sounds good mate! we’re gonna be in van for at least 3-5 years so definitely gonna be traveling around. I was gonna call the spare room ‘Finney’s room’ but TJ your edging him out haha. We will be in ottawa for xmas + NYE with the family hoping to head up to Mt Tremblant in Quebec for a few days before i do the drive across country!

Awesome thread, I wish i’d discovered it a few months ago when I was going through the hassles of applying for my visa.
I’m flying into Vancouver on Oct 27 and planning on heading up to Whistler for the November job fair. Fingers crossed there’s still some jobs available! Anyone know of any good hostels in Van?Cheers
Hey Caity, a big group of us also get in on the 27th are you flying AirNZ? We are all staying at the SameSun (huge liklihood its booked out as we went through TWHC and have a feeling we have taken over the place around that time but the HI on Granville St is across the road and you can rock on over to Samesun and meet a whole bunch of us
We are heading up to Whis on the 1st
I’ll be at same sun from the 18th to 28th so if you see me come say hi. I’ll likely be in a Boardworld hoodie lol
Had my last day instructing boot-camp and now a week to go before i leave.

I havent yet. I made a dummy application for one of the other fairs and i didnt even put in a resume yet they contacted me 3 times so regardless they will contact you.

Have only applied for one through the whistler website and got this a few days after it closed - “Thank you for showing interest in employment with Whistler Blackcomb. Unfortunately you were not shortlisted for the Whistler Heli Ski Equipment Technician. We had a tremendous number of applicants and we shortlisted based on recent and relevant work experience.”

Yep, I have. I got my job offer for snow sports a few days ago. I’m not sure what department you applied for but they are not completely finished. My gf has applied and her inteview was stuffed up so she still hasn’t done an interview with them yet.
So I’m sure you’ll hear from them soon. Also they sent me a message saying their recruiting officer had a family emergency and that’s why they were a few weeks late to get back to me.
Board bag all packed and waiting the next 17 days before flying out. Suitcases are still in the process of being packed and house still being finished up for the tenants..
Can’t freaking wait!!!!

That sounds awesome! Yep i’m flying AirNZ from Brissy. I’ll definitely check out that accommodation, would be cool have some people to meet up with when i arrive!

Good to hear I applied for ticket and validation in guest services, and that job is still posted in the job fair section so fingers crossed its only a delay and not me being unsuccessful (which there should be no reason lol)
