I want to agree but I don’t think wouldn’t take an ultra reality TV to achieve the same result. I believe there is a simple psychological process determining the participants reaction.
Not that I didn’t think it was cool enough to annoy nearby family members and get them to watch it.

A 4K movie is about 100GB.
A month ago there were only 10 movies that Sony have remastered to 4k (I assume that includes The Hobbit). No one else has created any 4K content and a blueray disc won’t hold a true 4K title, only sony have produced a 4K player.
It looks like it’s going run the same course as when HD first arrived on the scene. Many TV’s will be marketed as “UltraHD” and priced under $1000 but they will just be blowing up 1080 content (no-one will see that it’s not true 4K since these models are in the 30-50” size).
The cheapest true 4K set is about $5000 and 55”
By the time I buy 4K it will be in a projector.
In fact almost any TV I get in the future is going to be a projector.
FYI; 4K is 2160 horizontal lines (1080 doubled).
I didn’t really pay any attention to the tv type, just loved the prank idea and the reactions.
