Hey Everyone,

Few other random points - Milo here isn’t the same as aus milo, it’s ok but not the greatest and it’s not cheap, same as vegemite, get ready to pay through the nose for it.
.

Bumping to this page. Lots of good info in this post.

IMPORTANT ADVICE HERE!

If you want to teach in Canada, I would suggest you get your certification through CASI. Plus, you will already be in Canada, so it’s easier to just get it out of the way. It’s also an advantage to pass your level 1 sooner rather than later, as you will have the rest of the season to practise the techniques and progress more. Sometimes what you learn in these courses takes a while to “sink in” and become automatic. The more time you have to allow the techniques and theory to click and become automatic, the better in my opinion.

Here are the two websites if you want to compare CASI vs APSI:

http://www.casi-acms.com/index.php/en/
http://www.apsi.net.au/

This may have changed, but it used to be a lot harder to get the APSI cert, and you had to teach all season in Australia before even being allowed to pass the course. As far as I remember, it was actually more expensive than CASI too.

Andy Aitken might know more about this as he has done both CASI and APSI (recently).

Also ads, upload an avatar here. wink

This seams like a really great idea for a thread. So I’ll start one in the Rider Progression section!
I might make it open to discuss all systems so anyone interested in instructing or who is already an instructor can share what they know.

Just booked my flights through Wilmshurst’s wife, price matched with web quotes and didn’t add on AMEX charges.

Quietly I’m freaking out that I’m now locked in with a flight to Canada!!!

Cheers man, got travel insurance and my flight today. On the road to being ready to go.

Now I just need to sell my bike which is the next big thing and move out of my place at the end of the month.

TID. They have good reviews, price was competitive with 6% off TIDSAVE code and they have snow cover.

I have used them before and while I didn’t have to claim, they were easy to use website and didn’t cause me any issues.

I’ll fly out on the 18th October. So 6 weeks and 3 days for me smile

I have always found World Nomads to be really good value. Solid policy and very competitive price. Check it out and compare. http://www.worldnomads.com.au/

Finney said this in regards to World Nomads though which turned me off it.

finney - 01 September 2013 01:55 AM

As for travel insurance - I’ve heard a few things along the lines that the medical centre here won’t accept world nomads anymore as they’re horrible with actually paying the bills back.
