Finally got to ride Perisher yesterday. Met Andy and had some runs in the pipe which was pretty damm fun and addictive.

Verdict: still pretty good cover…super pipe was really fun, piper park was better than I have seen it before but really hard to get enough speed. The mini pipe was CRAP: good idea but a waste of time if not maintained.

Piper needs to be hit between about 10am and midday, after that in these temps it’s really not worth it.  How good is the superpipe though ha ha!  I didn’t mind the mini pipe but I’ve only ridden it once but the big pipe is way easier to ride.

Crackers is right they don’t maintain the mini pipe as well as the Super pipe.

I know there is no schedule closing/grooming of the mini pipe - whereas the Super pipe gets closed then groomed at 2.45pm everyday (the magic time for it to be groomed apparently!

But don’t drop into it anytime after they start grooming until the next morning.

Unless you like being chased by an angry groomer driving a pipe dragon. Learned the hard way I did.

NBG: I ran into Andy and he was lapping the park and spotted me wearing a boardworld hoody so I decided to have a few runs, the pipe was so fun this time round that I ended up doing about 30 runs. The mini pipe though had was cut out and have massive over hangs even at 930am. No chance of getting above the edge.
Do you know when they do groom it though Kim or is it just random times?

haha Spaz classic. I was sorely tempted to give it a try trust me.

No idea - only know that the super pipe is closed at 2,45pm every day. never heard of the mini pipe being closed for grooming. So must get done at night/after hours…

Good seeing you Crackers. Fun couple of pipe laps!

Did you see Torstein Horgmo in Front Valley park that day. We were riding the rail line and everyone would just stop to watch him before anyone else would drop. Pretty funny. Wicked rider.

Yes,Torstein is the sickest!!

It’s such a joke isn’t it Andy.
I’m really starting to get over all this, wet panty, look who I saw, star fckr, BS.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the wall of mobile phones trying to video from 200m away!

I’ve named dropped plenty of times on here, usually people you guys have no idea exist - Olympic gold medalists, world record holders, world champions or just sheer legends.
Hoping to give a slight profile rise for these Aussies.

What gets to me is that 99% of the names dropped in the last week are US athletes. Where’s the local support for our own countrymen, who regularly out-ride the big sponsor names, they need the increased profile because even the resorts make them pay for lift tickets. You think Torstien paid for his ticket?

There are only 2 reasons these big names are here right now;
1. Training for Sochi
2. Perisher are paying them (so we all wet our pants in girly squeals of “look who I saw” “at Perisher”)
(many are sneaking over to Thredbo or down to Hotham incognito).

UNLESS YOU HAVE A GOOD PHOTO OR VIDEO PLEASE DON’T WANK-ON ABOUT WHO YOU SAW, SHOW US!

Spaz you’re obviously way to core and “in” with the high society, sponno riders and grand pu bah’s of the Australian snow industry for the rest of us snow plebs.

I’m sure you’ve seen Mick Lowe and other local notaries surf down the gong way but if Kelly or Joel turned up at Sandon Point it would be exactly the same as Torstein at Perisher.  Why don’t you keep your “elitist” opinions to yourself instead of trying to prove your snow insider status at every opportunity or is that the only thing you have going for you in your life?

Spaz mate - let people have their fun.

I understand where you are coming from (you knowing what I grew up with!) but the above was a bit harsh!

This was my point, it doesn’t matter about your profile it’s how you ride.

NBG, I never called anyone a “pleb” or myself “core”. Your words should stay in your own mouth.
You can view me as elitist if you want.
At the end of the day it makes me sad because I consider you a peer, yet you seem to want to put me in category of unliked persons. disappointed

IT IS THE ONLY THING I HAVE GOING IN MY LIFE!
I sleep in a car, beg for food, have my cameras.
Here’s the catch - what makes a pro photog is they meet and make friends of pro athletes and celebrities.
We hear about your work, why I can’t I mention mine. Mine is work is to associate with pro athletes.

My post in another thread about Shooting and Interviewing Shawn White was not in jest - IT’S BECAUSE I CAN.
