Been back about a month but thought i would get around to sharing some pictures and stuff from New Zealand.. Basically after a week of road tripping across the north island doing sight seeing and touristy stuff (havent been to NZ since i was a child) we flew into Queenstown for 10 days of snowboarding and relaxing!
Flying into Queenstown, we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather
View of the Remarkables from our apartment. We stayed at Alpine Village on Frankton Rd. The apartment was fantastic, we saved a fortune having a kitchen and being able to cook our own meals. Plus the snow bus left from right out the front door to the Remarkables and so did the bus in to town.
The neighbours goat that greeted us and then tried to eat my snowboard bag
We spent the first two days at the Remarkables finding our feet as it was our first time snowboarding in a year. Loved watching everyone in the park from the chairlift and couldnt believe how quiet it was, even though it was school holidays. Their “busy” was quieter than Buller on a weekday! Worst bit was the chairlfts. So SLOW and the Alta chair especially tended to stop about 4-5 times on the way up which was extremely frustrating as it seemed like it took longer on the chairlift than it did to get down the run.

Posing at the top of the Alta chair 9am in the morning before the crowds arrived
Sunrise as we were heading off to the bus stop
Pretty much spent the rest of the trip (bar one day) at Coronet peak, the runs were a lot longer and the chairlifts were a lot faster so we probably enjoyed coronet more than remarks.
Early morning runs at Coronet
Action shot of my demonstrating my recently acquired skill of not falling over on the flat bits
And what trip would be complete with a trip (or three) to Fergburger, All I can say is that i now know what all the fuss is about. Best burgers ever!!
Absolutely loved every moment we were over there. New Zealand is such a beautiful country and Queenstown was brilliant. Definitely planning to head back again soon to check out all the other mountains! Shame we didnt get more photos but we were too busy snowboarding!
Thanks for the TR air180!
I’m really looking forward to hitting NZ for the first time next season and this has only made me more keen
