When I first injured it and got x-rays they gave me the all clear and told me to just go easy on it for a while.
I had a two week trip at Perisher planned so I went anyways. I tried to snowboard a couple of times (I could walk around fine in boots) but found that, although I had 100% toeside, I had 0% heels so couldn’t snowboard at all. A stark reminder of how important ankle movement is in snowboarding. On a side note, I was hanging out with some of the athletes from Disabled Wintersports Australia and was watching them tackle the boardercross track. Some of the leg amputees were truly amazing!
Come last week my foot still wasn’t getting better so I went and got the MRI thingy x-rays and it turns out my talus (joins foot to leg bone) was in four extra bit than it should be. Next thing I know I’m in the hospital.
The colour is due to the disinfectant they use (I freaked out too).
I’ve got an NZ trip booked for Oct so MAYBE good for that. Fingers crossed. More importantly, I’ve got a kick ass Europe trip planned for Jan so focused on that now.

NBG and i saw a girl with a prosthetic leg lapping the park at Perisher on the weekend. Massive props to her for giving it a dig!
Yeah she had a crack at the superpipe as well. There were quite a few girls in the pipe yesterday actually and im sure that all of them were putting me to shame!
