Yeh scourer pad (like you use after waxing) then gummy stone should work fine. Steel wool has high chance of scratching the base
When you say scourer pad you mean one of these yeah?
yep
Personally, I would just stick to the gummy stone. Keep it nice and flat against the edge and slowly remove the rust. The gummy stone is hard and flat, and will keep your edged sharp while you remove the rust. You could potentially dull your edges with the scourer pad.
I don’t disagree with you at all Rider however there isn’t one sitting in my tuning shed.
I have a scourer thought.
Every snowboarder should have a gummy stone. Tools of our trade.
I’m just playing, just be very gentle and the scourer should be OK. When are you riding next? A couple of turns on hard snow and any light rust will come right off.
EDIT: That reminds me, we will be selling gummy stones in our store. Swix is one of the brands we will be selling very soon.
If you send me one I’ll write you a review.
See the thing is I was riding on the weekend and it’s still there. I’ve just gotten roof racks and haven’t really been drying off the board before putting it on the roof. Annoying thing is I just got a full tune & base grind a couple of weeks ago.
I’ll take a look at it over the weekend.
I’m with Jez!!!!!
In all seriousness, don’t use a scourer/scotchbrite on ya edges as you will dull them!!!!!
We use them at work in order to strip back metal coatings!!!!!
