Exploring Vancouver - 18th October

1 day, really? LOL

Good chance I’ll have quite a bit of time after the season to come back. I don’t want to use my important time and funds before I even start my season.

There are no games on while I’m there… And I can’t support Vancouver as a Boston fan lol

Ah Bruins.

What the heck happened to Thomas? He was amazing one season then off the rails & team the next?

They wanted Tukka to play and Thomas wanted to spend time with his family or something… He was great that year but I think Tukka was better this season now he is their main tender.

Actually I am with TJ on this…

Its not the most exciting of cities!

He will see some stuff whilst tooling around running errands.

BUT I do think you should leave Aus on the Tuesday not Wednesday and have one more business day just in case something happens…

I can organise my bus a day or 2 later. The interviewer actually said that I was probably arriving a tad too early and might get a bit bored in Sun Peaks before training started on the 11th November.

Personally I plan to be looking for rental apartments rather than paying $425 for a single bed in staff accom. (Get a 3 bedder like this: http://kamloops.kijiji.ca/c-real-estate-house-rental-Bright-and-spacious-3-bedroom-duplex-Sun-Peaks-W0QQAdIdZ509445950 with 4 people and we are looking at $362.5 each (or $400 / $400 / $325 / $325) 2 people sharing get cheaper per person etc.) Nicer place, more room and Internet / TV options (which staffies doesn’t have) - The cost per month per person is $425 including utilities (excluding cable, telephone, and internet).

The price for that rental you linked to is for a year round lease!

I think it says Year Round Rate, so if they do a Winter Only Lease, it will be a lot dearer?????

Plus ya got the drama of payin others that come and go when your name’s on the Lease!!!!!

This is true. I don’t plan on getting a year round lease. I also don’t plan on having something as nice as that… More that sort of price for a 3 bedroom place. Most places actually don’t go up that much for a winter only lease it seems. So we will see what happens. I’m also not too horrible at bargaining wink

I also think that it’s worth the risk to have something nicer. But that’s for future TJ to sort out when I get there. I can always spend a few days looking and if I decide it’s not worth it just go and get a room in staff accom. This is why I’m planning to arrive early smile

Id go Air NZ, very comfortable, they have some of the most room between seats that ive ever experienced on a long haul, the entertainment is great, and the last time I flew air Canada I wasn’t all that impressed by the service, a bit like most north American airlines are at the moment.
You could use the extra cash for a ton of stuff, how much do you value a few hours at?  and like you said its going to be so early nothing will be open etc. Remember shops don’t generally open to at least 10 in Van to.

Well the Air NZ flights are gone now so I’m back flying direct. Once I get a job the flights will be booked!
