Majority of it is diet. I’d say 70%diet, 30%your exercise program.
Eat healthy and clean foods (in moderation) and get into a good exercise program. CrossFit as mentioned by Tobi is a great way to really challenge yourself in all areas of fitness. Strength, Cardiovasular, Endurance and mental too. Great at getting fit, strong and buring fat

I agree with K2; the weight loss part is mainly to do with diet.  If you are looking to tone up, that’s more about exercise.

When losing weight, there’s a basic equation you need to keep in mind: energy in vs energy out.  Your body uses a certain amount of energy each day to keep you going - that’s the energy out.  If you take in (eat/drink) more energy than your body is using, you will gain weight.  If you eat less than your body is using, you will lose weight.  When you are eating pre-made stuff, look at the Energy figure on the side of the packet - that will tell you how much energy is in that food.  Unfortunately you will find that the body actually needs very little energy to run itself, unless you’re doing a marathon every other day.  I don’t remember the exact figures, but you have to run something like 5km+ just to burn off a Mars bar.  Try to find foods that are high in protein but with less Energy.  You will find these are filling but don’t cause a lot of weight gain.

If you are overweight, I would think you should be starting on a professionally-prepared workout program that focuses at least initially on cardio, and steps up in achievable steps rather than throwing yourself into something extreme and having a heart attack.

Cardio cardio and more cardio. Running, swimming, running, swimming and some push ups and crunches in there for good measure along with eating healthy, as the boys stated energy in is energy out.

I dont use gyms, i prefer training outdoors. You don’t really need to lift weights to get a good physique. Unless you wanna look like Arnie Schwarzenegger I shaped up nicely from just cardio.

Now get out there!!!  cool grin

I agree with you there surferguy. I used to work in a gym and now I hate them. Id much prefer to work out outside. Though a bonus of doing resistance training (indoor/outdoor/weights/bodyweight based dont matter) is as you increase muscle mass your ability to burn fats is improved whilst doing cardio
