Stoked I just got offered a job! I’m moving to another department and up a level!

Stoked Blizz got a job offer just shy a week after me the same!! Offered a successful EOI at a level up for 10 months!!! This could definitely work with possible overseas travel and potential interstate moving…

Scored accom in a club lodge while its empty for a few days.

*2 Snowed last night and there are still some flakes blowing about. Must be at least 10cm at FF.

stoked that my wee swedish snow season TR thread just clocked over 5000 views after I posted my season edit yesterday!

haha, would have been happy with 50! I hadn’t looked at the views at all the whole time so it was a very pleasant surprise.

Stoked we finally have over a meter base at perisher!!

“Natural Snow Depth*: 103.2cm

(*as measured at Spencer’s Creek)”

Yeww!!

I put a sign in the snow each week at Thredbo at the same elevation as FV, Perisher. I go thought the snow until I hit dirt. On the groomed the base is less than 50cm, in the trees, amongst wind blown and shaded areas, it’s about 1m and maybe a touch more.

But yeah, a 1m base is a fair call for an average across the resorts. But a greater percent of the resorts are have a much thinner base.

I think the “base” should be the frozen layer of hard pack or ice. Not snow depth.
The “base” I see is only a few cm thick (maybe 10-20cm at best) - I contribute that to snowmaking not natural falls.

Up at DHG there’s enough cover to ski to the bridge. That’s all natural and the depth, in exposed areas, would be lucky to be 50cm - snow depth, with near no base. That’s at 1580m.
The plowed build up on the side of the road is 1m. That was before yesterday’s snow.

^ Which was a great days riding - even the American riding with us was calling it powder.

Grasshopper is saying over150cms by end of next week!! Hells yeah! I’m down all next week.  And the one after too!

“Extended Outlook:
This thing ain’t over on Tuesday. We can expect the final front in this sequence to rock through with another 10 to 30cm on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. That to me will mark the end of this glorious period.

And if anyone’s asking – any riding from Saturday until next Friday is going to come with some gusty winds attached and maybe some wind hold. If you want the winds to go away you probably have to wait until at least next weekend, when snow bases will be well above 150cm.”

Hmmm not sure 150cms total snowfall is what he is saying H0z!

The word ‘base’ is the key…

But I am not knocking the snow falling! anything is good!

Off to the equipment section I go.

I must say I am doing an impressive job of avoiding doing any actually work at work today! Forums are brilliant for that.

That’s what I was talking bout.. Sorry didn’t really clarify that in my excitement.. Haha he says 30-50cms all.up.for the week.. Making the base over 150.. My bad.. (kinda of carried it on from spaz and my comments about the base depth above..)
