Try taking voltaran tablets and the the cream as well, before you start the drive.

Do you wear a brace at all? try a neoprene fabric brace whilst you are driving.

Ok so the drive home after boarding must be a lot worse!!!!!!!

And you Mr (after seeing you all hunched over the other weekend) could do with popping some voltaran tablets yourself!

I drive the whole trip myself, my other half is on his L’s and the other 2 that come in my car can’t drive,

I find if I stop twice ( Goulburn, and cooma) or some times just in Goulburn or Canberra at the majura rd maccas,  that I’m fine..

I tend to sit slightly more to one side ( sit on my right hip, then after a while, around an hour or so, I swap and sit on my left side.. ) This helps and my legs dont hurt at all, ( my right knee plays up some times from a previous injury, and I have a manual, with no cruise control.. )

just get out walk around and stretch regularly. And try the voltaran, that stuff is awesome..

That was from an injury, basically whiplash and pulled hip flexors as a result and then pulling the again the very next weekend. Thankfully the weekend just gone they were fine, my wrists are kinda sore though, makes surfing through the week a little painful, I think at the end of this season im going to see someone about a couple of repetitive issues I have. I hope like hell its not athritis like 1080.

Might just be rsi, my wrists both seem to take turns in playing up, I just strap them when they do.. Mine started because of work, but become worse when I’m trying new things on the board (eg. I have to stand up after falling alot, and the strain on my wrists makes them worse). But if I take it easy for a day or so, they are fine..

and surfing between boarding isn’t resting your body.. But like me.. If I’m at the snow.. Chances are I will board everyday, unless its really horrible conditions.. (like the Friday in our July trip, raining sideways and about 3 lifts open.. Made for a forced rest day)

Yeh driving after snowboarding is a killer for me! Especially coming from Melbourne, that’s like a 7 hour drive from Perisher and Thredbo!

RA is a bit different from normal arthritis, it’s actually an autoimmune disorder so basically my body attacks my joints and causes inflammation. It’s fine most the time cos i’m on meds but certain things make it flare up. Driving long distances is one of them! I cant take any NSAIDs (voltarin, neurofen etc.) cos of my medication though.

The majority of my trips down to the snow and back I’m driving by myself. I have a nice enough car so it’s not too bad but after the recent roadtrip with NBG it became apparent how much easier it is mentally to do it with company/share the driving. The past weekend I was pretty tired/bored both ways no matter how much in car entertainment I take along.

On the subject of devo I’m hobbling around like an old man at the moment. Went out for an arvo surf yesterday afternoon and somehow slit off a decent chunk of my heel (on the way to the beach must have been glass or a sharp rock) I persisted with the surf but with it flapping around in the water it wasn’t exactly comfy. Getting my wetsuit off over it would have been a comical site. Ended up hitting the medical centre to have it all taped down and a tetanus shot.

So now I have a dodgy right knee from boarding on rocks a couple of weeks ago, a left foot I can’t really stand on, a dead right shoulder from the injection and a shoulder impingement in my left shoulder. Yay to staying fit and healthy! smile

Looks like it will be an enforced break from the snow this weekend but hopefully ready to get back there next weekend post decent snow falls!  shred

Oh dear DRC!

You are in the wars as the oldies like to say!

I have been meaning to ask how is the chest infection coming along? Have you shaken it?

My poor mother was on the nebulizer last night - she is not well at all.

Yeah more and more I’m grumbling like an oldie myself these days!

Haha I just know I’m tempting fate here but as far as respiratory health goes (sinuses/lungs) I’ve actually been feeling really good the past month or so! Sniffles from time to time but nothing that’s restricted me from being active.

I’m not exactly sure what I’ve changed other than rarely being home (which I keep clean/dust free as it is) but I’ll take it!

Oh dear that’s no good about your mother. Make sure she keeps an eye on it. It can be a very quick drop off when you are at nebulizer stage.

Mike and I can testify as to how sick your dad sounded in the morning hope he sorted that out and they had a nice dinner for their 40th anniversary thumbsup

One of the main causes for Respiratory Problems in the Home, is Mould!!!!!

Damp from under the house, in the roof etc etc is perfect conditions for Mould, and Mould produces Spores!!!!!

Spores no good!!!!!

Yeah very true. The problem is I’ve had this problem most of my life living in a number of different places. I’m also borderline OCD with clean freakyness so anything visible is sorted out. Being in an apartment I can’t really access the floor/roof space.

Unfortunately I’m just allergic to a lot of things and it doesn’t take much for my sinuses/chest to get infected. All good atm though and loving it!
