I always thought it would be a bit of a drive to Hakuba from Nozawa?????
Maybe if I was spendin 3+ weeks in Nagano, I reckon a car might be the go?????
But I suppose havin 4 peeps it will make the cost pretty comparable to buses etc, all depends on the itinerary?????
Mizu its only 2 hours drive from hakuba to nozawa from what i was told so its not that bad,
yeah we will see with the car i have suggested it but we will see…

Yeah it’s certainly not just around the corner but the main selling point is the convenience and I’d hazard a guess it will work out very comparable in price to other transfers just much easier.
Without knowing lanos itinerary you could put in an argument for shink from Tokyo to Nagano (they could drive directly from Tokyo but not sure how confident they are with that), Pick up car from Nagano, Drive to Myoko and have the convenience of the car the whole time they are there. Visit things like the snow monkeys + other local attractions. Drop car off at the end of Myoko (guessing it would have to be Nagano?) then head to Nozawa where the car isn’t really needed.
Over at the other forums the experience Japanese snowgoers will hire a car whenever it’s the least bit feasible and that’s with smaller groups than 5.
It also leads to more time on snow, and a wider choice of places to eat neither of which are a bad thing in my books!
I can def see the car from Nagano to Myoko as a viable option, then dump it from Nozawa onwards!!!!! Squeeze in all the site seein while they have the car!!!!!
I reckon the Shink from Tokyo to/from Nagano though, as it would chew up a bit of time travelling, and they’ll then have the car the whole period!!!!!
All depends if they do Myoko > Nozawa also?????
I reckon once in Nozawa, there’s enough to do for a week!!!!!
well the thing is the package we have includes all the transport as well / free of charge..
etc we land in narita get shuttle waiting for us takes us to our lodge in nozawa then it will pick us up from our lodge to take us to myoko.
and from what i was told shuttle in between resorts are free.
That solves that then!!!!!
now its the waiting game lol
I’ll post a list of eateries in Nozawa for ya, when I get back from my holiday!!!!!

Haha!
Can’t imagine 4 guys staying in and cooking every night!
Cool Makes sense Dave, i have changed the hotel to MOC just now so i will be staying at MOC.
Man Liquid Snow tours are so good and easy to deal with….. and i think quiet goot with prices.
Nice one mate, I recommended it to a bunch of guys I met in Nozawa as well and they enjoyed there stay at MOC.
I had the whole place pretty much to myself for most of my time there other than when some Japanese families turned up for the weekend holiday and a couple of Aussies on my last night.
Buy lift tickets from Sachiko (the lady who owns/runs MOC) you get decent discounts from her and you can decide where you are going on the day.
Not sure how long you are there for but when I booked I asked for the 7th night free which she did for me.
Let me know if you have any more Myoko/Nozawa questions.
Just going through my photos.
This gives you an idea of the distance to the Akakura Kanko Gondola (building with green facia) from MOC
A busy main strip of Myoko
Man I can’t wait to get there upload more lol

Apple and cinnamon steamy buns from the main drag and sushi from the sushi bloke near the chemist. And squid balls from the filipino girl at Stay bar (?).
Gotta be quick on those apple buns tho.
Oh and those huge and awesome apples from the apple shop. Mmmmm.
omg how awesome are the apples!
You think that something that large can’t possibly have any flavour.
best apples ever!

Haha will do, Myoko is the place I often think about and wish I was back at. I’d definitely go there again!

Haha I ate so many of these and set off a mad rush when I wandered back into the communal room at my accommodation with them on my first night there (apparently they’d been sold out for days)

Got apples?
These are the best apples I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of apples in my life!) From Ueno markets
Apparently the stawbs are as big as our apples and sweet as…..something mega sweet haha.
All the best and biggest oz strawbs go to japan just to compete with their efforts.
I was using the apples as a way to buy friends and man i bought up big…..until the apple bag ran dry.
Drc I have that same photo of a apple bun haha
