I got a message saying;
“This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. The following documents are required to continue processing your application.
Police Certificate: From each country/ state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate in addition to your previously submitted Police Certificate, please provide a Traffic History Report from Victoria.”
The Traffic History report is on the way now, but I wouldn’t have a clue what the difference between the police certificate I’ve already submitted and the “Police Clearance Certificate” that they want as well.. haha
Has anyone else from Victoria recieved this message after sending off part 2? So confusing
Did you definitely get an AFP check and not just a state police check?
There is a difference and it needs to be the AFP one.
Okay well I can’t help you tonight….
Do you remember what I said to focus on?
Are those tips earlier in this thread? I’d appreciate some guidance in getting my resume “resort ready” as I’ve got some time tomorrow to work on my resume.
Sorry no!
TJ and I are friends offline!
But basically ramp up the customer service aspect. Take of the more technical stuff (ie if you are a lawyer talk about serving your customer rather than lawyer stuff thats irrelavant to being a lifty!) from your current career. (if applicable)
And if you work in customer service previously and only had one line on it about it on CV maybe expand on it even if the job was from 5 years ago.

I can’t find where I saw it written but I’m pretty sure I read it while I was doing my visa application but there are only a few states that require an AFP check and Vic was one of those the rest just need a police name check..

And I’m pretty sure we talked more about this in the car on the way to the snow than actually in text form. I pretty much just pushed the interaction with employees at my jobs, the phone based support and prompt service. The main part when writing a resume is to make sure it looks professional - Like this. Not like this. And then write a good cover letter showing your enthusiasm and reasons to why they should hire you over the next joe bloggs in the pile of resumes.
Think of it as if you had a stack of 100 resumes in front of you and can only choose 50 for the job, what are you going to do. Personally, I’d start by looking at font / style / cover letters and picking out any that are useless looking and putting them in 3 piles - Interview / Maybe / Last resort. Then start calling people and see how they go. Once you hit 50, everyone else misses out.
TJ, when I clicked the “not this link” i thought my resume would come up . I cant thank you enough for your help mate!
Nah, like I said in the email, you’re style was good enough but you really needed to expand on some stuff and move the useless stuff out of the way.
Then fill in the gaps so it looks like your resume is full.
Fiddle with it and send it back to me if you want, I’m more than happy to help . (My dad is a HR manager, he tells me about some of the really bad ones he gets. We had one at my work yesterday that used Comic Sans and I told them to bin it… even if they were good lol).
Would you mind having a look at my resume as well TJ?
Feel free to send it through. It’s my username at gmail.com

The one I got was the Standard Disclosure National Police Check from the AFP website, I’ve gone through the AFP website a bunch of times looking for something that sounds similar to what they’re asking me for but no luck unless it’s a Victorian Police check they’re also after perhaps?
Personally I would print the email/message and take it into your local police station and see if they understand the terminology.
