I know there are a few of us that already use ski tracks or a similar app to monitor your stats on the mountain (speed, vert, runs, ect.) and i just stumbled across this app called alpine replay. same basic principle as those apps except it goes further, adding social media, video, leader boards, and some other cool stuff.
One of the things that really got my attention was that if i have the app on my phone and someone else has it on theirs, i can take a video of them (atm 15seconds) with my phone, link them to it and it then automatically adds stats to the video.
Looks like this:
i think it would be pretty cool if a heap of us got this for the shred, available on both android and iphone (not those stupid blackberry things ) and the best part is its FREEEEEEEE!!!!
Sounds kinda like STRAVA for running and cycling
My mates and I all used it for half of the last season in Whistler and loved it but the novelty wears off. You will also discover that it loses data all the time and gets confused about where you are. It also kills battery. My android phones were ok with it but the guys with iphones had a really tough time with battery life.
It’s cool and it’s free so give it a shot either way.
