Whose heading down this weekend?  Thinking I might be doing a solo mission as looks like it will be snowing all weekend so not super fun for a beginner ie: the girlfriend.

Dan and I are heading down on Friday night.

I am sure he is keen for a riding buddy!

And you posted directly after this DRC - LOL

But he goes every weekend.

Comes with me on the weekend’s I am there and buses it on the weekends I am not.

Yeah I tend to glaze over on your posts tongue wink

Fair enough the only time I’ve seen him I think he’d bussed/stayed with blizz so I was going to see if he wanted to tee something up.

Well damn I shouldn’t have told you - would have served you right being alone when you could have had a riding buddy!

hah yeah that would have totally showed me, running into trees is way more fun in pairs! LOL

Yeah let me know what you decide Mike, I reckon 40cm will make Guthega/Interceptor/Eyre and your secret smiggs stash quite fun!

It would be even better with a riding/camping partner!

Oh and my murphy’s law theory-ing is also taking into consideration that next weekend is going to be the best weekend as a lot of us are in Sydney that weekend michelle

Hope so, I have a long weekend down there!  shred

Dave the problem is that Smigs and Interceptor are closed, well unless you count Jbar land!  From what I can tell you can get to Bluecow but can’t get back as pleasant valley is closed.  I think Guthega to Bluecow and back is still fine though but the Jbar at the bottom of Guthega is closed, i wonder if that means you can still make it around the bottom to Blue Calf or not?

I’m still leaning towards going but would love to know what they are actually going to open tomorrow!

Bluecow to Guth and back was a shitfight at best when we had decent snow. I’d only go if you’re with advanced riders / skiers and don’t mind a fair amount of hiking.

Snow report says Guthega to Blue cow is for Guthega Lodge guests only…

Doesn’t mention Blue to Guthega but it was pretty bad access a couple of weekends ago AFTER the big storm.

But why you would want to go there when you can’t get back is beyond me!

It is weather/snow accumulation dependent!

Do you have a crystal ball?

Last Sunday Bluecow to Guthega was a piece of piss, made it the whole way and continued on past the Guthega JBar to Burning Log and the Blue Calf TBar with no dramas whatsoever.  The Guthega to Bluecow return run was also fine on Sunday so not sure if we’re talking about the same runs?

Just had a look at the cameras and Guthega and Smigs look rooted, not even worth going to either I would say.  Bluecow looks fine but I hate going the tube between the two.

Last Sunday Bluecow to Guthega was a piece of piss,

It was the Sunday before. When they had 50cm.

The problem was the groomers were concentrating on the high traffic areas after all the snow fall.

I am sure after they got those under control (so yeah by a week later) it was fine.

Problem is this weekend is replicating the weekend we are talking about.

Ok fair enough I actually haven’t had a chance to check the lift report myself.

The one time I went to Guthega this season we drove to the carpark and it was great fun but understandably a pain.

From everything I’ve read there should be 10-20cm overnight and the bigger of the two falls Saturday night bring atleast 20cm (so Sunday should be decent)

I agree though would be nice to know what’s going to be open but I’m tempted to take the punt as you can’t really be picky with this season so when it snows I’d like to be there.

On the other end of the spectrum I’m already hitting the cbf driving stage of the season.
