I’m heading down Friday arvo, not 100% on the time just yet or where from, most likely from either Newport or Stanmore but if anyone is looking for a lift and chateau lodging we could work out alternatives that suit both. For those that dont know and in the interest of full disclosure, the “chateau” is in fact a camper trailer that while not providing french provincial mansion style accom is most definitely doable for your average person. If my girlfriend can put up with it being a lower north shore type albeit very easy going im sure most could as well. It really only takes 29mins tops to out up and pull down so not a huge job either.
I have a spare clark rubber 100mm double mattress for any takers. if there are no takers I might just take up the spot under the pool table at Ozparents.
I usually bail grom the hill about 1ish on Sunday so I can get home at a reasonable hour.
Spewing, I’m looking at heading down on the 16th, my knee is definately ready to leave around 1/2pm. Ill probably be sleeping in my car so your lodgings sound quite luxurious haha
Its not so much the traffic drama I just like to get there and get settled at a reasonable hour so I can have a decent nights sleep. Actually the traffic is a bit of a drama gettingout of sydney, from newporr not so bad but stanmore and the m5 fills me with dread.

yeah its not fun!
If you sleep under the pool table you may as well leave when we do at 6pm.
Unless you clear Sydney by noon the M5 is a nightmare.

Ahh ok fortunately for me (when I’m not coming from Cronulla) I only join onto the M5 at the crossroads it’s pretty much bang on 4.5hrs at the speed limit.
I’m surprised you’re not tempted to hang around for the swell that’s meant to start rolling in soon.
Either way keep me posted, will be keen to catch up if I head down by myself anyway.
whos heading down for the w/e of the 17th-18th. this one could be a goer for me because ill be in sydney already. probably need a lift tho since ill be in someone elses work ute and they are driving home
A report from the hill is that the V8 is broken down. waiting on a part from Austria….
Whilst not a huge problem for most of us on here it will create a massive knock on affect on the surrounding t bars!

Hmm thanks for the warning! Hopefully the newbs stick to smiggs or it could be carnage down mid.
wow what a drama, not sure if anyone besides me and nbg have noticed, but the link t bar in smiggs hasn’t run once this season either, thats due to a part they swapped out to another lift and had not yet replaced (unsure if they have at this point in time)

I sure noticed when I was trying to ride back to Piper/Perisher from Smiggs! Interesting reason though I’d just written it off as a lack of snow.

yea it was abit of a mission hey
nah there were times they had plenty of snow for it
There was a tbar in smiggs that let you ride down to top of piper, ride down piper and catch telemark to get to fv that’s how I did it on sat
maybe they have had it running for a day or 2 then
Weather nerds starting to get very excited about next weekend now! 20-40cm seems a lock for this weekend as well. Bring it August time to give the season pass a workout!
I’m leaving in 6-7 hours!! Yeww! And on a brand new board!! (Mr.h0z surprised me with the gnu. B-street I’ve been eyeing off) so keen!!
