Bring back cracker night I say!!!!

Qld vetos decision for Cracker Night. NT lists pro’s & con’s for us:

CON: Your dog might be frightened and run away.
PRO: You may end up with a new, better dog in your yard.
CON: Crackers are noisy and disruptive.
PRO: If you were a gangster planning to pop a cap in somebody’s arse, Territory Day is clearly the day to do it. Also, goose shooting in the suburbs would go largely undetected.
CON: Many grass fires occur as a byproduct of wayward fireworks.
PRO: Territorians get the chance to hone their firefighting skills.
CON: **** gets blown up.
PRO: **** gets blown up!
CON: There will be fireworks going off for the rest of the year.
PRO: There will be fireworks going off for the rest of the year!
CON: Stupid people, and innocent people in their vicinity, can be injured
PRO: Every emergency service person is rostered on for Territory night, so you’ll be attended to at the hospital much more quickly than any other night of the year.
CON: Safety instructions on fireworks are often in a foreign language.
PRO: If anything could inspire Territorians to learn another language, this is it.
CON: People are risking life and limb.
PRO: Amateur fireworks displays promote survival of the fittest.
CON: If you find yourself in distress, there is a good chance no one will notice your flares.
PRO: It’s a prime chance to get rid of out-of-date flares.
CON: Decent fireworks can be costly.
PRO: Less money spent on booze can only be good for your health.
CON: Enormous piles of spent fireworks are left littering every public area in the Territory the following day.
PRO: Ratepayers can be assured their money is being well spent by giving council workers something useful to do for a change.
CON: Our interstate image is further tarnished.
PRO: Increased cashed-up-bogan-tourism gives a much-needed cash injection to our economy.
Some might say Queenslanders are missing out in their decision to be cracker-free; other Territorians might be considering moving over the border.
