Winter has arrived at Mt Buller with 15cm of fresh snow and more on the way
Mt Buller has awoken to 15cm of fresh snow on the ground, as a cold front crosses the east of the state, bringing low temperatures and snow to the resort. Further snowfalls are expected today and tomorrow, along with cold night time temperatures ideal for snowmaking.
General Manager of Buller Ski Lifts, Laurie Blampied, welcomed the snowfalls. “We received some great snow falls overnight and given the forecast over the next few days, we also expect to produce a significant amount of man-made snow. With these conditions we anticipate having more lifts open by the weekend and we will keep our guests informed of any developments,” Blampied said.
Marketing and Communications Manager for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, Amber Gardner, said the snow is a welcome sight. “Winter has definitely arrived here at Mt Buller, and the fresh snow has transformed the resort into a winter wonderland this morning. There’s a great atmosphere around the mountain as everyone celebrates the arrival of the first major snowfall of the season.
“The resort is looking incredible, and with school holidays just around the corner it is a great time to book in a snow trip, with deals on offer to suit all tastes and budgets. We are certainly feeling on top of the world here at Mt Buller!”
