Come at me Japow feb 2014!
You may never bother with Oz snow again!
Haha I was actually going to push blame on to the “summer sucks” tshirt wearers for this prediciment but they are a sensitive bunch!
Haha,
No please go on, please explain how the people who were complaining about the Indian summer you all didn’t think needed to end could possibly have to do with the fact that’s it STILL too hot in July!
Personally I think the problem is that you got you wish!
If I’d got my wish it would still be 30c and Sunny not this neither here nor there weather!
*I’m not big headed enough to think my wishes or complaining will have any effect whatsoever on something much bigger than me such as the weather it is what it is…
Hey dyl.. At least you got to see me ride down from mid carrying a full hot chocolate and spill a little bit trying to get across the Wentworth t bar track lol!
(Mr.h0z went for a run while I ordered food.. He gets to the bottom and the quad is getting shut down.. So I tried to bring it down to him.. But it was cold by the time I got there.. Devo lol)
then dyl just chilled with my group today as none of us thought it was worth going up the hill.. 8 lifts open. 3 being t bars and no chairs.. And little to no snow.. Hopefully it buckets snow over night.. But I’m just being optimistic!
apparently 15cm over night according to perisher fb this morning, fingers crossed it empties and we get heeeaaaaaaaaps!
Definitely lookin a lot better on the cams this mornin!!!!!
Geez it honestly like the past week was just a dream!
Its pretty nice up here!
Mt P should be opening soon. Cow is open.
The snow is wet be skiable. We need it wet to build the base back up, but there has been a significant temp drop and the snow is drying out.
can you explain that to me oz, i would think the dryer snow would build the base more? given that it has less chance of melting?
Tracks I think it has more to do with the wet snow, once the temp drops, will form a thicker icier layer less prone to melt than lighter fluffier snow. Lighter fluffier snow will then land on top of it insulated from any latent warmth in the ground by the icy layer however since we have had so much rain that should freeze solid soon enough once temps remain below zero for a decent time.
Nbg is right!
But I also would use the example of how wet stuff sticks to everything! Your clothes, other snowflakes trees. Dry stuff just does stick!
Have you ever heard how in Japan you can’t actually make a snowball?
Good to hear the front is delivering oz, feels so strange it’s spring like up here today.
Early next week could be fun if it continues to snow and runs open back up.
Rumour has it that perisher is trying to open it all tomorrow
thanks ngb/oz, yeah that makes sense
TJ any idea about park setup? currently they are all closed..?
The snow from the parks was sacrificed for runs. Sorry.
They had the guns on front valley park running all day. They will build again asap.
