took my confidence from hitting the 50 on thursday up the mt. yesterday and overshot the 50, caught an edge upon landing and got slingshotted into the snow :(
that happened at 9:00am, kept riding till 2:00 just trying 3s off the 30, got home wrist was in heaps of pain, went to hospital, turns out its fractured. fml haha in a cast and no snow for me for a while
edit: shit maybe this should be devo thread?
I was in the FV park yesterday arvo filming a mate on the 50. While I was waiting, some guy must have taken off wrong all I heard was ‘oh shit’ and saw him going back first into the ground
I had to climb the jump and grab the flags and put em in front of the jump so no one would hit it. I then saw the guy walking away with his arm in a sling. I was shocked, seriously though he would have broken his back or something
some people walk away from some insane situations….
then theres me, simple stumble and im done for the day haha
Sorry to hear that Tracks, better than a fractured vertebrae I can ssure you, only took me six weeks to get back on snow after that, sure you’ll do it quicker!
thanks all, yeah ive thought about riding in 2-3 weeks, not park just practice switch or something..
hahha it is a good wrist guard, limited padding though.. does anyone have anything good/bad to say about real wrist guards? i think ive heard that if you wear them the injury can push to your elbow instead of your wrist? anyone know if this is bs?
Sonds about right maybe not the elbow but the break should move from wrist to arm at least. Wrist breaks are generally harder to heal than arm.
Thats the reasoning with skateboarding and roller girls so it should be the same.
DRC were you wearing a maroon olliepops hoodie?
Nope not me (I’m not typically near the parks) could have been Jeremy?

Yeah everything I’ve read indicates that it pushes the break further up the arm.
The main tip for saving your wrist is to try to maintain a clenched fist when falling and spread the fall over your body before putting your hands down. Obviously much easier said than done in the heat of the moment especially if you are hitting jumps of that size.
Get well soon!
Just found out the Playstation Slopestyle that was scheduled for this Saturday night has been postponed till next Saturday 27th July.
Not surprised!
Anyone heading down for the slopestyle? Moved to the 27th as bliz said

Gonna try head down, just need to find accom for that night cause I don’t wanna drive home after it.
same deal
driving up the mountain today the report said both fv jumps were open and leichardt was all good, get there 15 mins after hearing that to find both fv jumps closed (had been most, if not all of the day) and only 1 or 2 rails open in leichardt.
To be totally honest, im really F#(king sick of perishers lies
On their site they are calling for 22 open lifts tomorrow, if they do i will be very very surprised
Today only V8 is open
So glad we didn’t head down last night. Good call Dan!
rough as dylan, why limited lifts? bad/windy weather?
:( heading up tonight, fingers crossed that it improves for everyone!
