Gah core shot!!!!

Avatar

So I’ve managed to put a core shot in my board. :(

After 12 years of riding I’ve finally managed to get one so I have no idea about these things. Is it best to get it fixed ASAP or can I keep on riding and fix it up when I get home.

I’m not too sure how long these things take to fix and if I’m going to be able to find a repair shop here that will do a decent job.

If the timber core is exposed, and ya don’t wanna get it repaired till ya get home, get some Epoxy Resin (Araldite), and fill the hole as soon as possible!!!!!

Make sure that ya dry the hole out so there is no moisture present, before ya seal it up though!!!!!

If ya left with a lump (If it’s on the base side), just file it down smooth!!!!!

Once home, go into ya local board repairer and get it done properly!!!!!

Currently in Las Lenas, Argentina. Leaving here tomorrow afternoon and then heading to Chile for another 3 days of riding.

You see I’d normally totally do this however my Spanish isn’t that great I doubt I’d be able to get Epoxy Resin. Well at least wouldn’t be able to request it.

I emailed the guy we booked our trip with he put me in contact with the manager of the hotel we are staying at, the boys downstairs are going to fix up my board tomorrow hopefully. Otherwise it’s looking for somewhere in Santiago when we get there Tuesday.

So after yet another confusing conversation in Spanish & English. The core shot in my board is getting fixed & it’s getting a wax & edges done for 300 pesos or about $55.

Thank god there was a guy picking up his board that spoke some English otherwise I think I’d still be there trying to answer his questions in Spanish.  LOL
