Consider adding something like this to the bench and it will make it much easier to do the edges (not pictured but you can slot the board in sideways so you have access to the edge) and scrape at a back friendly height.

Dick’s Sporting Goods but they only ship to the US. Lucky my uncle is coming out to Aus in a few weeks. The shirt is currently on back order though and won’t ship out for about 2 weeks.
