Alby Mangels….............................................................Mwhahahahahahaha.
Bit light on for ideas right now, Peter McCabe is the one who springs to mind?
Bahahahaha. Alby Mangles. He pulled the chics thats the legendary part.
Before McCabe. He helped bulldoze the road to bells thats how early. Co discovered an indo classic while motobike touring. Was famous in a south american country for bringing surfing there. Jumped on cargo ships etc to travel about. A true traveller.
He became friends with my folks and inspired them to travel before he died in 08 now because if him I have no inheritance. Haha
Still got No Eye Dear as to where this place is!
North of the boarder. The ledge is well known in lid circles. The island features briefly in the classic Kongs Island vid. The left is possibly the best left in the universe (well maybe not but its a quality reef) Cmon think aussie legend adventurer. 150 countries by the seat of his pants. Nobody holds a candle to this trailblazer. Know your roots people. Haha
Is it old woman island?
Ding ding ding ding.
Not sure whether you got the legend but it was Peter Troy. His most famous discovery was with another coupla aussies being Lagundri Bay Nias. His travel diary/postcard biography is a great read. First hand accounts of travels not just old memories. We used to hang in his shop at mooloolaba and doubt everything he said. Hahaha, fools
