Drying gloves

Avatar

Haha mate im telling you, my outerwear ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 and everything was wet. Everything.

The gloves dont need binning, they have like 15 days use on them after i bought them in Tahoe. Its a simple fact that you will get wet no matter what you are wearing if you are constantly being raines/sleeted/snowed on unless you are wearing a dry suit or a poncho or hella expensive goretex outerwear.

Mike was the same, he was wet aswell. My pants were soaked through (hence we made the call to bail) but they are only 10,000 and i have a goretex pair on their way.

bkrtron,

Unless you have your jacket over your glove the best waterproofed gloves tend to have seepage… cause the melt runs off your jacket down into your gloves…

Always have jacket over the gloves. You can always get the longer gloves which go past your wrist, I had some nice long ones which never had any dampness just a little sweat. Rain is a whole other beast :(

Can you explain how this creates a waterproof seal please??

Longer doesn’t help!

Just can’t beat the elements, need ponchos for your hands. I just have never been wet while riding unless I have eaten shit and snow went up my back.

Actually I did have some Burton gloves which were absolute garbage they used to get wet on the ends of the fingers.

Time for me to shut up…

GORE-TEX gloves are a very wise investment. Well worth paying that little bit more (when buying new gloves) and upgrading to GORE-TEX. With gloves, they are only usually about $20-30 more expensive than their non-GORE rivals.

Especially in our wet conditions.

im willing to bet even the best gortex gloves would have goten soaked on tuesday.
even the best water proofing only works from the outside in. once water works its way down your arm into the inside of the glove they could be made from unobtanium and it wouldnt make a difference.

anyway the thread is not about how they got wet, its about how to dry them once they do.

If it’s really wet you want these
Rubber on the outside, 100% waterproof.  I remember a wet day last year when everyone was moaning about wet gloves and my hands were totally dry.

I put them in the clothes dryer for a little bit and i then turned them semi inside out.
I still havent picked up my boot dryer from the parents place. i’ll do that tonight

I can’t never get them back to normal whenever I attempt that!
