Tall Hoodies & Undergarments

Avatar

Hey BW,

I know a few of you guys/gals are now wearing the tall hoodies. I was just wondering what layering you use under them? You just wear thermals?

I don’t mind the style but I was thinking I would freeze on the Oz mountains with that high wind we get here. Spring riding doesn’t really exist with the thin layer of white we have or does it?

Thanks for the advice. P!

I only wear mine on blue-bird days when it’s not windy. Which is quite a bit in Oz imo, and just wear a thin thermal top and t-shirt under it. But I also don’t get cold that easily lol.

What I don’t get with anyone wearing any tee that’s not tucked in… is the whole waterline seeping slowly up your back… especially when boarding… it seems to be unavoidable…

Even on the warmest day - yuck!

I hated swimming in a tee shirt for that reason… let alone in the snow…

I dont fall so i dont get mine wet blank stare

Just normal layering, you dont wear just a hoodie unless its warm and blue bird. Anyone who wears it when it isn’t these conditions is a poser. Pretty much…

i am a hood rat whenever possible and i just run a shirt under the hoodie, yeah i only wear them on sunny days and minimal wind helps but if you keep lapping and dont get caught on a lift in the wind then i never get cold..

i swear the feel of riding in a hoodie is awesome, less restricted (not that my jackets are) and more free. haha terrible explanation but it just feels good tongue rolleye

I was loving running just a hoodie, hell some days at the Shred i was just a NBA jersey (thanks again Jeremy…dick haha) with a long sleeve shirt under it.

Yeah hoodie for blue bird days t-shirt and a thermal if it was cool enough but otherwise just a shirt. I don’t get too damp my hoodie is fairly water proof if you are only sitting on it for a minute or two..

Yeah love the free movement heaps less restricted than my jacket..

I had an excellent week in spring last year.  Cheap accommodation, zero queues/crowds (sometimes my family were the only people on the run), nice sunny days.  The cover was still excellent in early Sept and lasted well into the school hols.

Just a tee and the hoodie. It’s mainly dependant on the wind.

Agreed with everyone else on the comfort factor!

Freaky season last year though? I didn’t ride in Oz last year but I heard it was sno-azing! :D
