Drying gloves

Avatar

Hey guys.
I went to bluecow on Tuesday and it was WET. i came home drenched and now after 2 days on the drying rack my gloves are still wet! you guys got any techniques on drying gloves thoroughly?

This is why i buy ones that can go in the dryer!

Have you check the care tag? They might surprise you!

Unless they are leather??

They need air flowing through them. The drying rooms in lodges really aren’t effective at drying soaked items.

Is there anywhere you can leave them where they get warm, flowing air?

A boot dryer is ideal for these situations. I use one in Whistler and I never have wet boots or gloves (and it does get pretty wet over there).

We do have a couple of these left if you are interested: https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/6189/

Check the care instructions first!

Boot dryers usually don’t get too hot. It’s more about the circulation of the air. I think most (if not all) boot dryers should be fine for gloves.

Oh yeah I agree.

Was just meaning he should check the care instructions BEFORE making the trek to his parents for the boot dyer!

Maybe he can still chuck em in the dryer!

Ohhh, that’s what you meant. I thought you were suggesting the boot dryer could damage the gloves. red face

Bin them and get some new ones. They shouldn’t get that wet from sweat or water. You can always get a pair with the removable inserts they are bang on the mark.

i did look for care instructions, theres a tag that says what they are made out of (nylon, PVC, and polyester) but it doesnt day if you can dryer them.

regardless of what brand or quality glove you buy if you stand out in the rain all day they will get wet.
If i threw out every pair I had that got wet id be clocking thousands of dollars in gloves!

Do you even have a clothes dryer where you are staying? You could throw them in on the lowest setting. Still, I think your boot dryer would work best.

Is there a picture of a square with a circle in the middle then a cross over the top?

If there is then DON’T if not go for it.

Things are usually clearly marked with the pic or the words DO NOT TUMBLE DRY

BIN THAT SHIT! hahahah .... it was raining? I have never been in the snow while its raining. You need some plastic bags over your gloves.

A decent leather glove style should stop the rain a bit more but maybe get some of that waterproof spray. Unload a can of that all over them when you get them dry.

bkrtron,

Unless you have your jacket over your glove the best waterproofed gloves tend to have seepage… cause the melt runs off your jacket down into your gloves…
