glad u made ur decision TJ haah hope i was convincing enough ... not that you needed but that extra push hahah .
Decision isn’t final yet. But I’d prefer to have it ready in case I want to go rather than not having the option.
Every day that goes by though I’m closer to Canada.
Just a heads up for anyone trying to get a criminal record check done in NSW, you need to do this before you go to a police station:
EDIT: I just went down and did this. Should be in the mail to me within 2 weeks (says the cops).
They don’t accept AMEX
im not sure entirely what the difference is but i used http://www.afp.gov.au/what-we-do/police-checks/national-police-checks.aspx (australian federal police check) for mine

You need a federal police check. Can’t seem to find the page that states it but depending on what state you’ll need to get a copy of your driving history too.
As it states on the AFP page, that’s the ACT version of the one I got.
Any police check will be useable.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) can only provide National Police Checks for:
- residents of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Jervis Bay Territory and external Commonwealth territories
haha sorry yeah thats the one i’ve used
Cool, you freaked me out a bit there
Added the cost of living - Pub prices to the main page.
These all seem to be one of the more popular places to go for each mountain.
P.S. I’m seriously appalled by how bad the websites are for the snow fields and places around the snow fields. If this was my establishment, I’d have good photos, menu options and advertising out there ASAP! A static website isn’t even that hard to maintain / create.
Hey TJ there is also staff meals at whistler $7 for meal, dessert and soft drink..
If you want another pair of eyes looking for particular info let me know..
Was just going for a popular bar .
I’m sure there is specials everywhere, just need to look around.
Not that i dont like a pub feed every now and then but i definitely prefer home cooked meals, and i eat so freakin much so its a fair bit cheaper
ilolwhat - totally agree with eating at home but the reality is most people will go out with mates a couple of times a week. This guide was just to give people an idea of what the cost of stuff around the village was.
Totally agree mate. But when you get stuck in staff accom with heaps of other people using the same appliances etc with minimal / over-priced groceries on the mountain, it’s probably going to be nice to get out once or twice a week and have something that tastes awesome.
Though I’m the opposite of you, I generally eat small portions of things. I.E. I had a 250g steak last night with no sides etc. And today we have June Birthday’s cake so that’ll be my breakfast lol.
i guess it was fate to always come back with no money!!!
PS. i got my intro letter today so my visa has been approved!!! woooow
-and when doing the online part leave nothing blank unless you cant!!
