Looks like I’m going to get the chance to surf Cloudbreak in Fiji next month. I’m booked in to be on the boat. I’m hoping it’s not too HUGE so I can get the chance to surf it. If not, I’ll be getting photos. Either way, I’m stoked! shaka

So I googled it….......

If you do die (I really don’t want you to, I quite like you) can I have your snowboard(s) ?

Cloudbreak is a unique wave, in that it is actually regulated and owned by a surf resort. The only way to surf Cloudbreak is to check into the Tavarua Surf Resort in Fiji. The wave is about a mile from Tavarua Island itself, requiring a boat ride to get out there. Cloudbreak is almost a perfect left, but it can get sectiony. There are three main sections: the point (also called “the top”), the middle, and the inside (also called “Shish Kabobs”). The inside looks like the safest bet to most newcomers, but the boat drivers will tell you otherwise. The point and the middle are actually more rippable, and the inside is not called “Shish Kabobs” for nothing: the reef gets really shallow there, and it is very sharp. Cloudbreak is a difficult wave to surf, but it can guarantee you some serious tube time. Lastly, if you aren’t very familiar with Cloudbreak, you may wonder why it is included as a big wave surf spot. During huge south swells, Cloudbreak holds up very well, producing massive surf and many times restricting surfers to tow-in surfing only.

Doing a shift in HotShots last night and had to wait for computer tech to do his thing.
Tech was just waiting for programs to load or run diagnostics and I had my MacBook out and it did its usual routine of randomly shutting down.

The tech ambled over and suggested the problem, I told him the what I had been through with apple and warranty and other techs that refused to fix it.
He pulled out his phone and showed me photos of the interior of other machines. Then he decided to pull out his tools take off the back cover and clean the carpet of dust around the fans for me for free.

MacBook Pro now fixed and free windows OS on its way so I can run both systems.

Ahh death by dust. I should probably clean my machine / reformat the windows on it too… But I’m sure mine is still better than yours was since I do clean it every 6 months or so…

Stoked on Bluebird days.

Stoked on the 2 days of riding NBG and i got Tues/Weds.

Tues was terrible vis but was constantly snowing/sleeting and fun powder runs through happy valley (although the Tbar waiting times were horrendous)

Yesterday was so effing fun. Bluebird skies, abit firm in the morning but softened up as the morning wore on. Shitload of high speed runs and hitting a few natural little features made for a good day. Saw a girl attempt a jump and just destroyed herself, she was prone for a few minutes then ski patrol put her in the boat and took her down.

Was starting to get real chopped up around lunchtime so we made the call around 1 to head.

Spoke to a few guys on the lift about Bluecow, they said it was scary busy and not fun dodging people on every run. Also they said the bottom of rollercoaster is roped off and funnels people into a small area to load onto the chair, im not exactly sure what they meant exactly but they said it equates to stupid waiting times to load. The lines were pretty hectic on the V8 and on the quad, not to mention the Tbar in Happy Valley with school holidays approaching (QLD are already on holidays) i dont envy anyone going down in the next 2 weeks with this limited terrain. I wont be heading back down unless there is a stupid amount of snow dumped during that time frame.
