In my opinion, when a new brand launches in the marketplace, it’s important to grab people’s attention and stand out from the crowd. What sets you aside from other brands needs to be made clear. Your brand’s personal style, attitude, image and message needs to stand out. Only then will people really know what your brand is all about. Keeping it too simple at the start and not catering to the majority (who look for new and interesting brands), will hurt growth in the long run.
What I’m saying is: be exactly who you guys are. Let your style, attitude and unique message shine through. I’ve met you guys in person and I think you have an amazing story to share with your potential customers and followers. Be exactly who you are and don’t tone it down.
That’s my opinion anyway.
I think this is why we like the Buse clothing so much, it’s loud, it’s out there and it mildly offends people (Summer Sucks gets a lot of looks around Sydney)
If you were to make plain white tees, would I buy one? No. Why? Because you’re plain white tee costs $40 where as a Bonds tee costs $4. Yours might fit a bit better but not 10 times better.
Make it unique and stand out. Market it well and get into the industry. Don’t be afRAiD to be unique and out there a bit.

I see what you did there!!!!!
I won’t ever buy clothes with a logo if I can get away with it. Looking like a billboard isn’t something I want to do (you might catch me occasionally fishing or with pjs with logo gear that someone gave me for Christmas ). There are some exceptions, if its a friends company or occasionally a company that has a particularly strong message that I support ill buy their stuff with a big logo on it e.g Ill wear drink water clothes on occasion. I also wear Boardworld stuff with a big logo on it sometimes as well. I just don’t feel comfortable wearing brands all over me.
Rider spells out the problem pretty well though, if you just put out plain stuff from the start, why would anyone buy your plain stuff, over what is out there already? You would need to find another way to differentiate in that case.
Man, you guys have been so helpful.
We’re shooting our Winter range today and it’ll be available within a week. We have definitely kept everything you’ve said in mind with this new range, so it’ll be interesting to see what you think.
Also, the rest of the wood has been bought to finish off the ramp and that should also be done within a week.
Proper frothing.
We’re feeling a massive BW party at Factory 6 soon. We’ll make sure we give you enough notice so ya’ll can get yourselves organised. Think BBQ, beers, live music, ramps, rails, dogs, basketball. Kids welcome.
