Wow a lot bigger up here, had a pretty fun surf this morning, about to check a novelty spot now to see if it might be worth a hike!
Nice! NBG
Since it was taken at high tide it will have swallowed some of the size and we are facing more south than Sydney’s northern beaches, looks like it’s pushing 6’ out the back of Sandon Point from that photo.
How big are the sets up there?
Got a couple of bombs in the 8ft realm I would say, I was sitting a long long way out in no mans land early this morning. Jumped off the back of the point about 6:30 and paddled out a lot deeper and further than normal. Tried for a couple and missed, and then got cleaned up by a big rogue wave. Thought FU I’m gunna go sit out there then. Was out so far I could see the houses on the northern end of the next beach around, I ended up sitting out there for about 30 mins before another came, broke a full 50m further out than where anyone else was and I got it right on the peak.
Hadn’t looked at it too hard before I paddled out and to be quite honest I woulda liked my 7’0” out there for the ease of paddling into it. As it was on my 6’4” I took the drop quite late and barely kept the nose out, ended up riding it to the beach and ran around the point again and jumped off. Got a fair few more but nothing quite in the same league or the same spot as the first, the incoming tide put a stop to that, gunna go out again soonish on the low tide and see how that’s going.
Consider bluetac in your ears (or plugs). There’s gonna be heaps of nasty water coming through the drains.
Weather Channel today is saying 6m waves tomorrow morning.
I hadn’t realised this rain is ex tropical cyclone and the eye is just about over western sydney now.
This morning is big and wild and really offering nothing in terms of somewhere to surf. This pic is taken from the headland about 200ft above the surf, doesn’t really do it justice as to how big it is but it’s probably about 10ft or bigger on the sets.

EDIT: I was trying to add the width code to your image but the html source vanished somehow!!! NBG can you add the link in between the “” (no need for for other img tags just the html)
spaz
Been some big bombing sets rolling through at Cronulla when I had a quick look yesterday arvo/this morning. Easily 8ft+ but very messy. Unfortunately too sketchy so my first swim since getting back to oz will need to wait.
It’s all happening on the Sth Coast
Man that’s busy, thats the gong boat harbour isn’t it?
Yeezus!
Umm nah thats south end of City Beach, down in between the harbour and beach. So sort of correct!
I used to surf there years ago
