We are looking at gettin a season pass. Mate said it will end up being cheaper? There for 28 days. Does anyone know what the season pass includes for niseko?
Here’s a quote from Niseko
The Niseko United All Mountain Pass can be used at Niseko Annupuri, Niseko Village (formerly Higashiyama) Niseko Grand Hirafu and Hanazono.
and the price list http://www.niseko.ne.jp/en/lift/
Personally I wouldn’t want to go to Japan for 28 days and restrict myself to one mountain.
Yeh I was keen to go to others but as soon as you start mountain hopping and changing up hotels etc. it starts to add up.
It was hard enough to get my mates in to buy the flights haha
I’ll do a mountain hop in the future. But when your organising a whole trip for 3 other blokes. Simple and cheaper is better haha.I’m not sure why you would need to change hotels? There’s plenty of other options on Hokkaido (such as Rusutsu and Moiwa) which are easily accessible from Hirafu.
You also have places like Furano and Tomamu but they are a bit further away.
That’s right! You don’t need to swap hotels. I know skijapan do tours to rusutsu, our friend is the GM of skijapan in Niseko, her hubby is mountain guide. There are other private guides too, I can give you details if you like
im keen to get my crap organised, so does anyone else want to come, and if so about how long for ?
Lano?
Me and the Missus are looking at trying get over there in Feb/March. Might be a little towards the tail of the season though.

Haha this inspire me to do some research.
Niseko to rututsu 1000 jpy one way. Leaves 0830 in morn and comes back at 4:30 pm.
Also just hit the boys up and might hire a 4wd and go hunting for some untouched spots for a bit o fun.
Just mission around with a car full of lads and Hunt for a few days.
Anyone hired a car in Japan??
Do you have to get international license or can you rock your Aussie one??

Just be safe! Unforgiving place, japow. Make sure you have all the right equipment too!
Not sure about license but I know it’s pretty easy to get a car

Nice one that’s exactly what I was aiming for. Japan is an amazing place and you are really lucky to have 28 days over their. I just think it would be a pity to limit yourself to one place.
My knowledge of Hokkaido is pretty limited vs Honshu but people like Billy and other Hokkaido regs will no doubt be able to give you fantastic advice.

You do need an international license. I found this out when I went to test drive a prototype at Toyota in Odaiba.
Many people find hiring a car a fantastic option especially if you have a group and plan on exploring a bunch of different areas (also lets you cherry pick your mountain based on overnight conditions). It would probably be a waste though if you just stick to Niseko area and maybe a bit full on if it’s your first trip to Japan?
Touring around Japan in a cube car and crashing in the back of it at night after a hot onsen is something I’d definitely love to do one day.
Good advice dave! I wouldn’t know about licence because I’m never driving
Yeh we only going to do that for about a week out of the 4 weeks we are there. Just mission around and explore. Find hidden spots and also do the tourist thing drive really slow, take photos, be obnoxious in public areas, going to be sweet!!
Can anyone recommend any accom in Niseko for $100-200/night that can be booked online and not part of a package?
$100 - $200 per person?
Hey,
Up to $200 for a room with double bed or is it not possible to find places for that?

$200 is more than enough! I was staying in a room by myself with 2 beds, couch, bathroom etc with hot breakfast included for less than $60/night 50m from the gondola in Myoko.
I’ll leave the specifics of your situation to the Niseko pros.

Very possible!
Have you had a look?
I will contribute more later.
Oh and for when?
My first guess is $240 per night but its 5*... I haven’t checked my other options yet!
need dates please

Hey,
Sorry my post was a bit brief. We will be travelling myself, partner and toddler son but can all share a double bed. Everywhere I have looked online appears to be a part of a package deal (like nisekoski or liquidsnow) and the few places on agoda are like $400+ a night! Maybe I am looking in the wrong places?!? It doesn’t need to be flash or anything just close enough to lifts/town centre. Every friend I ask have booked all their trips to Niseko via one of the packages but I would rather do it myself to save a few $ and be a bit more flexible. We are looking to go around start of Feb so we can go to the snow festival while we are there.
Thanks!
