I don’t carry chains.

Go to Thredbo or use skitube - chains not needed. I’ve skidded off the road with winter tires.

So spaz being the snowbum you are, you reckon we will be sweet with out them if we board thredbo?
coz last few trips ive only been at the start and end of the season but this year we are going late july/ early august.

Unless you drive Alpine Way between 12am-5am in the middle of a big dump (that is snow below 1000m), there wont be any problem. And I mean big dump (5cm/hr)
OR
It’s a really cold night -5℃ or colder.

The roads are cleared during snow events from 5am-11pm. It’s the early hours that the road freezes when problems occur - it’s ice that’s the big prob, chains break the ice.

I’ve even driven in 20cm of fresh snow without chains, from Perisher, in a front wheel drive car. But once in Thredbo I had to use chains on a -10 night to just move 10m (it wasn’t snowing).

Drive Alpine Way during daylight and you’ll never need chains (well maybe once in 50years).

Spiro knows his stuff when it comes to tuning. Just dont do any clutch dumps with the HD clutch and you should be fine.
I have used a turbo liberty and now use an outback as a snow hack neither with chains, never had any issues in the liberty with traction but the outback last year on some ice came unstuck. We were coming up the last rise from Smiggins to Perisher carpark in a complete whiteout (100km/h + winds) and the traffic came to a standstill just as i was about to come off a patch of ice, the wind gusted and blew me straight to the side of the road, and the 7 cars behind me, we all had to be pulled out by the big road scraper excavator thing)

So many vehicles get blown off the road there. At least 1 bus a week. Several a day in bad conditions. It’s why buses go to Smiggs, but they get blow off the road further downhill as well.

wow, wish the wifes cross country had that sort of go!!

Far out that car is mental! I have always liked the look of that model volvo

From the video, it seems like the Volvo is heavily modded where the CBR is only slightly modded. That car is insane to be able to be smashing the bike by that much though.

I’d love to see a drag from a stopped start. Even my bike at stock is 0-100 in 3 seconds smile

Like most extreme things wouldn’t it have more to do with driver/rider than the equipment they’re on.

Nope. Put Sebastian Vettel in a stock Toyota Echo and me on my bike and I’ll beat him 100% of the time.
