Not sure of exact location but I hear its hard to get on but people live for it. Was from a few years ago.
So not the point then, is it a rivermouth?
I believe its a rivermouth. Definitely sandbar. But all photos ive seen show a headland not to far away. Probably the second most photographed wave in tassie.
The name is not unique. Nsw has one and vicco too I think.
Jeeezus christ I have no idea at this stage, will havta do some more research, really unlikely tonight as I’m rooted, had brekky then a two hour surf, then spent an hour or so SUPing with my old man, trying to get him into it, he’s 68 and after his second shoulder reco he’s having a few dramas actually surfing again. It’s pretty heavy actually for me watching him in the water catching waves and struggling to get up this morning, despite all the dying that’s gone on recently in my world you still think that your parents are going to live forever, this surfing thing is a bit of a worry in that respect. Hoping that he just needs to work on his strength a bit more and it all comes back to him.
After that I ended up going for another 2 hour surf. It’s only small like one or two foot but the banks are rip banks so between the constant paddling and the work I have to do as a guy over 100kg to get speed and turn I’m totally shagged after today. No lunch but heading over to my olds for a home cooked meal for dinner, is a good thing to starve myself prior to that as it’s a mega feast ha ha!
My shoulders are nearly shot at 44. So I feel his pain.
Do u know the the name of the points I may be wrong. It maybe a sand dependant point.
Man my local knowledge SHOULD come into play here… It really looks like one of the points back home in Hobs. Im gonna say Mays point as my first guess..
Theres only a couple of river mouths in tassie that i know of and they don’t get that good. Sandbars, same thing…
Unless its lighthouse or Arthur’s river on the west coast of tassie….
On 2nd glance, its not Mays, to many trees in the background.
Hmm ill have to think a little harder on this one… Stand by gents
I think everyone is trying to hard. Ive said im not exactly sure on specifics. I always thought it was sand bottom point but I cant find photos to suggest that so nbg had me secind guessing. Maybe its a pt on ariver or bay. Its either east coast or peninsula again details are hard to find. However it has got to be one of tassies most famous waves. But like I said a bit rare on this sorta quality. I only know 4 tassie waves.
Andy chiz photo btw. South of shellharbour hides a wave of the same name.
The Farm?
Ahhh Boneyards?? Has to be!
Boneyards it is. What do u know about it? Is it a point? It looks too far away to be a proper point. But by crikey by jingoes its an awesome looking wave.
I know quite a bit about it.. When it works, its big, heavy and will give you a beating.
Located down the SE peninsula, its a little tricky to get to.. im sure the boys would kill me for giving away its exact location.
Its a sandbar/rivermouth with rocking rights and lefts. But as i said it gives you a beating on a good day. Good camping near by as well if u have a boat
Try this one…
First guess I’ll make is Clovelly. Don’t know what they call the wave these days.
So, yeah - just opened image in new tab and it told me the wave location.
So I reloaded and edited your post so location can’t be found.
Looks like Luna Park maybe?
