The best way to get between Queenstown and Wanaka is The Crown Range. It can either be one of the best drives you’ll do in NZ (if you’re a decent driver and the road’s fairly clear), or one of the worst (if you’re a total pussy, who’s so selfish you refuse to pull over and let better drivers pass - or if you’re a decent driver who’s stuck behind what seems like an endless procession of selfish, bad drivers). I’d LOVE the chance to drive it on a closed road!!!

there is talk of in the future Aussies just needing a Drivers Licence but it hasn’t been implemented yet.

Anyone have any recommendations for mountains to visit in the South Island other than Coronet Peak, Remarkables, or Cardrona? Already been to them. I know of Mt Hutt and and Treble Cone, but they are nowhere near each other, so can’t visit both easily. Are there other good ones near Wanaka beyond Treble Cone or others near Christchurch besides Mt Hutt? They have to be beginner friendly also! Cheers.
