mostly for the cost, I don’t want it. It doesn’t seem to do anything for me that I don’t get by just paying attention when I drive! I would find a bumper sonar (to warn you before hitting anything in a parking lot) much more useful.
Eyesight just seems to let people pay a bit less attention than they should ie the beep when the car in front of you starts moving.

The beep when the car in front moves off is definitely the least useful feature. The adaptive cruise control is magic. Avoiding collisions and running down kids/pedestrians is also worth the price of admission I reckon. I’m pretty attentive when I drive, but nobody’s perfect.
For the record, I also got the bumper sonar.
how does it avoid running down kids?
I agree with you on the adaptive cruise control. That is a cool feature

It detects objects in front of the car then cuts power to the throttle and applies the brakes automatically. Same way it avoids running into other cars.
Can it do the same for roo’s???
Now that woudl be a handy feature!

yes, anything the cameras can see. It does have a fairly narrow field of view, so a roo suddenly jumping right in front might not be detected in time. It claims to be able to completely stop when the speed differential is 30 km/h or less, and reduce the impact at differences greater than 30.
At 100k’s i doubt that feature would come in handy

yes and no. If Grandma McGee was driving at 70 on the Hume Autobahn and you came barrelling up behind her at 100 while distracted, it would stop you hitting her. Also, far better to hit something at 70 than 100. I think the limitation is due to the cameras only being able to see a certain distance ahead (I think 70 or 80m).
it is a good peace of mind feature to have while puttering around town in stop-start traffic, especially in very slow traffic that is slowly moving forward then suddenly stopping.
Yep would be good in witner for the friday night carpark that is the M5 in sydney!
