Wow, just wow, the Perisher cams look hideous right now, so very disappointing!

I know so heartbreaking!

This sucks and my mate just paid for his rental gear for opening weekend too..

130mm of rain and still falling at the moment at 4mm an hour.  If it keeps that up that another 40mm today.

lucky i bailed out just in time.

lost 100$ but ah well..

Didn’t someone say lots of rain to cool the ground would help the base later on ??

Though I would prefer it just to puke down snow

Um yeah sort of, less than a week out from the start of the season is not ideal though unless there was going to be a nice cold snap and the last of the moisture band actually fell as snow.  From what I have read it’s going to get cold after the moisture has disappeared.  I spose the ground will be frozen solid after that though.

yeh from what ive been reading.. it will pour till tomorrow/Monday.. then be cloudy.. and the temps will drop fri/sat and there is a chance of snow then.. but no real estimate on how much this far out.. just cross our fingers and hope its a sh!t load!!

as soon as its cold enough they will be pumping the guns non stop to rebuild the cover they had.. just hope they have enough time to do so!

Regardless of the falls, it will be good to catch up with some BW peeps again

Although if Mother Nature decides to be nice this week…! I won’t be complaining!

It wont snow much if any. Temps to high. Perisher will be lucky if they get snow down for opening w.e. if they do it will be front valley rock hopping

Any skiing I do that weekend will be a bonus!

Your being a little negative guys, I know a couple of weeks ago I was down-talking the snow that fell but now I’ll talk down this weather we are having now. It ALWAYS is pre-frontal clear snow before the real stuff happens.

(K2, NBG and digitalreaver are on notice for using the “r” word). grrr

This is perfect weather for right now, Perisher made enough to use with the natural snow and packed down the beginnings of a base on FV. Anything they make now or that falls will hold all season.
This moisture is wetting the ground, a cold change will freeze the top layer of dirt that can act as a false base to hold snow until it gets packed down.

All is good and on track.

It was never going to be more than FV open on long weekend. They don’t even staff themselves for more.

Spaz you have to admit that the rain came maybe a week late? We woudl have prefered this last week even…

But I agree it is better than warmer dry days!!!

I am still positive (by not being bummed about the clear stuff! I am postive I will still have a super long weekend as usual!)
