What exercise did you do today?

Northern Lights - 30 May 2013 08:21 PM

Signed up to the gym today, did some cardio, core work and legs. First time in a long time, guaranteed to be feeling it in the morning.

Feeling it in the morning? I’m feeling it now honey! :(

Did the Warrior Dash yesterday. Building up to it I’ve been really sick for 7+ weeks and have screwed up my shoulder joint somehow (struggle to do a single push up without pain) so really wasn’t confident going into it.

Turns out it really wasn’t that hard. I’ll need to work on my running as some of the uphill sections on half a lung pushed me but the obstacles were pretty basic and I would have liked to see a whole lot more of them as they were fun.

Timing chips turned out to be useless though as some of the obstacles near the end got bottlenecked for up to 15-20mins (with stragglers from the earlier wave)

Unfortunately back to being sick as shit again today chest is killing me, might give in and go to the doctor tomorrow.

Thanks for the link, I’m still considering it but know what to look out for now! smile

Went to the doctors this morning and I’m back on antibiotics so hoping that sorts me out.

I’m not a big believer in multivitamins (prefer a balanced diet vs fluro expensive pee) but grabbed some swisse whilst in the chemist just in case I’m missing something.

I have a habit of doing these type of events injured/sick.

The week leading up to the Sydney Tough Mudder i had a chest infection, didnt affect me as much as i thought (Thank f**k)

2 weeks before last years Melbourne tough mudder i destroyed my ankle doing rope climbs @Crossfit. Literally couldnt walk on it for a week.

Youtube video on how to strap my ankle and 19 Kms later i finished it but man it was hell. Was so unstable, rolled it a few times but powered through. My ankle was screwed for a solid month after that haha

Been training heaps for this season. Been doing a crossfit type of training 6 days per week for the past year. Probably the fittest I’ve ever been with about 10 kg lost this year alone and heaps of strength built.

I’m just keen to not let my fitness get in the way of riding well.

Felt really flat yesterday when I got home from work. Decided to go for a night run to get the endorphins flowing.

Was also a good reason to test my Aldi compression gear in the below 5deg weather. Just wore my compression tshirt, leggings and running shorts.
Never once did I feel cold!

I ended up running 8km and took about 45min. Was pretty happy that I never once felt out of breath and my legs pretty much didnt fatigue. Only thing that stopped me from going longer was my tendons around my patela were giving me shit loads of grief 3/4 of the way in.
Not bad seeing its been over a year I think since I ran.
When I was reasonably fit, I ran 8.5km in 34mins for the Mothers Day classic. So im not that far off seeing i’ve done no training besides summer in Whistler and skateboarding

Man that makes me feel slow! But I was pretty happy i managed to crack 5km in under 30 mins over summer without too much effort. Then it got cold and dark in the mornings and I got lazy!

My exercise for today will be winning our indoor soccer grand final tonight (Hopefully!). We havent lost a game yet this season so if we lose tonight I’ll be shattered!
