How big are those sites? We might head down the Sunday or Monday depending on work rosters.

Im not sure of the actual measurements of them, but going off memory you can fit two cars and 1 big or 2 small tents.
That’s a decent size, do you use your car or a tent?
Did you pay $29 p/n?

Yea it is a decent size, im sleeping in the back of my ute and my mate is sleeping in a tent.
No, $27 for unpowered, your looking at the wrong place, the discovery holiday park is out of town, opposite the thredbo/skitube turn off.
This is the one you want:

its actually right in town, no more than 5-10min walk from basically everything

Stumbling distance from the pub?
Thanks for picking up my mistake, would of been a disaster haha.
Getting the unpowered site, does that allow use of all facilities? Shower, loo, laundry and kitchen?

Sure is stumbling distance from the pub, even rolling distance because its downhill no matter where you come from
haha no worries thats what we’re here for mate, and yea getting an unpowered site allows you access to all the amenities and facilities
Your not paying $27 for a parking space.
Having showers/bins/toilets is what allows them to be called camping grounds, kitchen/power upgrades them to caravan park.
It’s a legal thing. The answer is yes, you get access to shower/kitchen.
Laundry will be equivalent to a laundromat and you pay for their use.
I thought as much, thanks guys.
My only concern with staying in the car is the weather on mountain during the day.
How do you keep your gear dry for the next day?

they do have a drying room, but not sure on how keen i would be to leave my gear there if i cant lock it up, they might have lockers in there or something.
I’ll give them a call and chase that up tomorrow and let you know

hang stuff up in the car or tent
I have spare outer wear so I guess I could bring that just in case. I imagine wet gear would suck.
Or just suck it up and stop being a princess

i would say take the spares just incase
Haha,
Wet gear is one of the main reason i wouldn’t camp…
That and cold shower/dressing area (not the shower itself…)
If the bathrooms were dry/heated and there was a safe drying room for gear I would possibly consider sleeping in a set up like NBG…
Go buy a $25/30 board lock… its handy on the mountain.. (one of our group had his board taken from mid station.. luckily after a nice long walk down fv.. he found it at the bottom.. near the perisher centre.. (thinking it might have been a case of mistaken identity?) but since then we lock our boards..(and friends boards with ours too)...
Reason I say this.. when we stay in the Jindy inn and there are heaps of randoms.. and we have to use the drying room.. because our gear is too wet to dry in the rooms closet with the heater on.. I lock my gear with the snowboard lock.. (down one arm of the jacket and either down the pants leg.. or through all the belt loops.. then loop it over the hanging rod..
