Also was Village Management your first preference?
I didn’t pick village management at all. I don’t know where to check to see what i was chosen for, but all i know is that they want me to volunteer this summer in Sochi. Also, i can’t check to see if i actually didn’t choose village management because their site looks to be down at the moment. I’ll reply back when i have checked

Village Management is under Event Services, I acutally have that as my 2nd choice.

Anyway, I have even more upated information to share with you from my source ( A Sochi Volunteer Manager)
The Official welcome letter for the test event will be emailed on June 1st. It will have the most updated information they have regarding the event in August.
170 “invitations” were sent out and 25 volunteers will be selected from that group.

DOES NOT MATTER
for your Olympic &/or Para-Olympics Volunteer application if you were chosen and not selected OR if you weren’t selected for the test event at all.
As far as the “acceptance letters for the Olympics & Para-Olympics are concerned, they will be sent Mid July - Early August. (sorry, just the info I was given) Of course as we all know is subject to change….

If you said no to the test event, would they have still given you the position?And we know the Rob tactic worked, for Rob at least!
I wrote an email a month back asking if they are still going to notifiy us in May, even though we had heard otherwise, and how I am hoping to be chosen. No surprise, no response.
Well, June is almost here, another 5-6 weeks, I’m sure we will all finally hear one way or another.
Yes, I had Sport down at first, however, do to my Arena/Stadium & Hotel Management experience I was told I would have a better chance with Venue Management
Working the Test Event does not affect your staus if you do not go/ are not chosen.

So the deadline to respond to the offer is May 30th, tomorrow. However, they said if i’m really interested they can push the deadline to June 7th.
God Damn work…. they need time to see if me leaving wont screw them over before i can get approval from them:(
Hi folks,
I am having trouble with my application…
After many months (and several follow up emails) I got the link to the english test. I clicked on the link and I am not able to sign in. It says that my email is incorrect and that I am not registered I am using the same login info that I use for the Sochi Volunteer site. I called the volunteer center, but they didn’t seem to understand my issue.
Anyone else face this problem?

II sent the below email as I had not heard anything in awhile and this is what I heard back. Does it sound positive to anybody in the group. I thought you weren’t doing the online training unless you were selected.????

Dear volunteer, I would like to confirm that you were chosen as EVENT SERVICES volunteer!

Our next steps:
1 Your final confirmation of participation in Sledge Hockey from 23 August (day of arrival) till 3 September (departure day).
Please note that we would like to work with you through all period.
2 Visa support procedures. (signing international volunteer agreement + application for Russian visa)
3 Shifts, working details, information about your position.
Note!!!!
Your application forms were send to security check. It will be completed in the first part of July.
In case security will reject your application form, OCOG Sochi 2014 can do nothing and will have to refuse you in participation.
That is why you should think on your own weather to book flights now or wait until security check result (first dates of July).
