Oooh Porsche.
Took me a while to fully appreciate them.

Now I’m fully invested in a poor mans Porsche I love the older models.
I even have a Porsche motor in my car.

Pretty sad day for Australian motoring.

Ford Australia have formally announced this morning that they will cease all local manufacturing of cars and engines as of October 2016, and will be an importer only.

This will have a pretty big impact for the Australian automotive industry as a whole.

Probably My largest concern is that people didnt see this coming.
its been coming for years now.

i was surprised by the amount of people who told me I should buy a Territory when I was buying my Forester.
To which I would say “what and continue flogging that dead horse? id rather invest in a marque with a future.”

Territory is a very good car but very different to Forester.

By 2016 Telsa will have taken over the world of vehicle manufacturing.

Never said it was a bad car I said it has no future.

Hey Guys, Been a while but how is everyone, i recently just picked up this new chariot GT Turbo Foz, running 16 pound boost plenty of mods such as, BOV, boost controller turbo timer, the car came with all this however some stuff ive done include New 20inch wheels i hated the chrome ones that were on it and a 3 1/2 stainless steel exhaust from turbo back sportsryder coil overs dvd player speakers subs amp. Going to be doing new heavy duty clutch in next two week plus getting it dyno tuned, im having fun spending money.

Hey mate, nice Subie. I hope you havn’t already purchased the HD clutch. The biggest pitfall with Subaru’s are their glass gearboxes in the 5 speeds. The best thing to do is put in an Exedy OEM replacement setup, they are perfectly fine for grip, i have one in my liberty and was more than capable of handling over 20psi and ran a 12.5 Qtr mile. My mates in their drag liberties both run the same OEM replacement clutch and they are down near 11.5Sec Qtr miles now.
If your in Sydney i can reccomend a top notch Subie workshop, 2 of my mates run it, Its called Ichiban Imports they are out in Ingleburn, top blokes and know everything there is about Subaru’s.
Cheers
Josh

cheers guys,
HAHA to late though, i put in the exedy hd clutch, i have heard that about the gear box though, i work in automotive build driveshafts, so have plenty of contacts and use Autotech in Granville for my tuning needs, cheers for the heads up about that joint in Ingleburn, but i know Spiro at Auto tech as we do work for one another so im sorted there.

Just wondering though does anyone run 20” rims with low profile on the suv’s and if so what do you do for chains,

this is what the RTA site state:

Although excluded from the requirements to carry and fit chains, Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) recommends that persons driving 4WD vehicles (which include off-road vehicles, all wheel drive vehicles and sports utilities), except those fitted with winter tyres, carry snow chains and fit them when directed.

How many of you guys with AWD,4WD carry chains, ive checked out the thule k-summits but they are like $750. Last few trips down before i bought my own AWD i drove the father in-laws foz and just took the risk without having chains but luckily never been directed to fit them. Now I’m like do i buy the k-summit’s or do i just drive down and take the gamble, Or do i buy a set of smaller wheels to fit normal chains ( as i have adjustable coil overs and work next door to pedders its not a drama to lift for a little more clearance) what do i do hahah??

Any advice would be great.

I don’t carry chains.

Go to Thredbo or use skitube - chains not needed. I’ve skidded off the road with winter tires.

I used to change ride hight each winter on the VW so chains could fit (if needed) but have only used them twice in 15years.
I like the idea of having a smaller set of wheels/tires incase.
