I am having a giggle in my head right now about you failing about DRC and the resulting video evidence!

Haha I’ll have to have a look at my footage again one day and see if I can make up a clip of the extreme ab workout.

We are looking at niseko in hakuba.. And maybe do a few days some where else.. Mr.h0z told me the name of the other place he was interested in.

Just FYI Niseko and Hakuba are on completely different islands smile

lol didn’t even notice that!

I know.. that’s where the 3-4 days touristy travel comes in… it was supposed to say niseko AND hakuba but my phone had other plans)

Just depends on the group and funds etc.. but niseko is a definite.. might end up just doing the whole time there and travel a few days between for a break. Its all up in the air atm…

If you’re only going there for 10 days on snow I wouldn’t personally bother with transferring from Niseko to Hakuba and possibly Mr Hoz’s other place. For that period of time I’d just pick either Hokkaido or Honshu and do a couple of different places within that area.

I know you mentioned buying camera gear so you are going to want at least a few days in Tokyo as well (I can’t get enough of the place, both times Tokyo has been the highlight of my trip and I’m going back again in October!)

As you said it’s all still up in the air but worth thinking about!

So what are some places people like to get dinner from in the Jindy area?

I end up at the station buffet a lot it’s not fancy but it’s cheap all you can eat and I can get my dose of roast meat, veges, pasta etc. There’s also the grill next door which is nice as well. People tend to go nuts at the pizza place just outside but the last thing I usually want after a junky lunch is pizza.

Eboshi Japanese: was ok when we went there. Often booked out though and quite pricey.

Mario’s Mineshaft: Busy but al-right Italian. You will come out smelling like a wood fire though!

Banjos: If I remember correctly they scrapped the buffet with main meal option last year. Disappointing :(

Lake Jindabyne Hotel: Buffet meals with DIY steak options.

Are there any asian stir fry noodle/rice/wonton soup style places in town?

The Bowlo is pretty cheap but like all Bowlo’s is full of older crowd.

Banjo’s has gotten rid of the buffet option, was seriously pissed about that as I was happy to eat there every night, I like the beer.

Went to the Mexican joint with Oz and some others, maybe Coops and…..?  They were super drunk and I was playing catch up so not sure exactly what the food was like.

Shouldn’t this be in a Jindy Thread???

Ebishi is now closed.

The Mexican we went too Nthn was okay - but I preferred BBC. But it was good for something different (it was hella pricey too)

LJ’s has cheap food (but you get what you pay for)

I go to the Bowlo most Friday nights. But Nthn doesn’t rate it.

He thinks that Banjo’s bistro (Clancy’s?) is about the same. So to each his own.

just got to say we’ve had beach burrito a bunch of times and its usually decent although a bit pricey, as for the newer mexican place near serges we found it terriible! maybe its what we ate but we paid a decent amount of money and got a burrito with chocolate in it… it was gross!

Chocolate is very traditional in Mexican food.

The mexican place near Seges is more traditional.

BBC is really whats called Tex-Mex. And is the more american style mexican that most aussie are used to.

Haha ironically part of the reason I brought it up is because I thought we were going off track with the Japan discussion!

With a bit of a lull in the weather I couldn’t think of any perisher topics off the top of my head.

Yep have flagged with a mod to move the almost 2 pages of exclusive Japan discussion to the Japan thread.

I also resurrected the food places thread. (and suggested we move those post to there as well!)
