Jindabyne Accomodation Options

Avatar

Since there seems to be a lot of non camping discussions in the camping thread I thought I would start a thread on Jindabyne accommodation.

I will start by always suggesting my parents place. good for 2 - 4 people. Although my parents don’t care if you have more. It is up to you about sleeping on the floor etc.

This is the link on Stayz - http://www.stayz.com.au/94055 (please PM me directly to book as discounts can be had for BWM).

Lano current request (i think you mean Banjo’s)

I personally think it is over priced for what you get.

I have heard good things about Alpine Gables though. Look at their accom Lano.

(Lano I am guessing you are not staying at mine from this new request?)

*Mods, is it worth moving some of the Lano discussion to this thread for future references?

I was looking at Acacia Snowy Motel for opening weekend. Has anyone stayed there and have any feedback?

Banjo is overpriced and often loud (hard to sleep) due to the nightclub underneath.

When we booked people into places, it was the last place I was looking unless someone specifically requested it.

We got the 9 bed apartment at the sport and rec centre for the first week of July for a good price. Will report back on how it is.

On weekend trips we usually hit up the jindy inn… Do a Fri/sat its 5 on a room.. And that’s a double bed (Mr.h0z and I,) then a bunk and a single.. They have a veranda, bathroom, wardrobe, bar fridge and tea/coffee.. They cook breakfast for you in the morning.. And that works out 90 a night each..  and the couple that own it are so lovely.. We spent a good 30 mins talking to them the first night then again at breakfast..

its in central jindy too..  and during peak season they have a restaurant on top that’s open too..

on of our stays there last year we lost one of the keys.. It was $10 to replace.. And when we go home we found it anyways, so brought it back on the next trip.. They took money off the accom for us for doing so..

I have heard good things about Sport and Rec for budget and family travellers.

For me it is too far out of town. I would stay at the station in that case cause there is at least a bar.

We have our own bar haha, 9 ppl is more than enough to party

9 is also only 2 short car rides with 1 dessy driver, it’s not that bad of a situation.

We have stayed at Sport n Rec a few times now and not just in snow season. It is excellent. If you booked an athlete village they are so damn good!

We booked the apartment with the kitchen and drying room. Works out to be about $220 for the week each.

Yeah I am pretty sure that is one of the Athlete Village ones. I have stayed in them twice, so much space!!! Fully stoked kitchen and even a washing machine hidden in there too. Dryer is in the drying room out the front door.

I would recommend these units to anyone considering them!!!
