Taken out of context

haha just paying it out!
I came from roller skating, then skateboarding before lacing on blades in the late 80’s (sister bought me some blades back from the states the year the were launched).

First go on a razor was in 2004(?)ish and same, 180 straight up on flats. But still found blades to have endless room for error, even when launching of a ramp over cars (I featured in commercials doing that on first day trying). Dropping into vert half pipe was the only issue I ever had - which was weird because I could do that on skates, skateboard and BMX.

I still think blades are easier than scooter.  zipper

Andy check out https://www.boardworld.com.au/forums/viewthread/13470/P75/ A new (big posting) BWM remembers meeting someone at Smiggs last year who noticed his BW sticker, spoke with him, is tall and mentioned being a mod (or heavily involved here).
Could it of been you?

Agree to disagree on that one LOL

But hold the phone, you jumped a car on skates in a commercial! You must have been alright. Where’s your loyalty!! jks

This is weird. This makes you the second person that I’ve met that has jumped a car on skates for a commercial…. What’s with people jumping cars in the 90’s?? Must have been the extreme thing to do at the time. Or at least what marketers thought would sell they’re product. Either way that’s pretty cool Spaz.
I feel a bit left out now…. wish I jumped a car downer

I don’t want to dent my WRX. Anyone want to lend me their car?

I would do it on a snowboard for sure. But on a skateboard I can only ollie matchbox cars wink  and that’s an improvement!

Since Spaz and Andy both have professed their love for rollerblades, I felt this was needed:

Hahaha Tj that’s cool. shaka
I don’t think I would attempt it these days minus an ACL.

It was a pretty big bank commercial I think. There were a few of us doing it - in Sydney.
There was also something to do with a watch or clock or something and formation skating.

From memory they didn’t show much of the actual car jump or it was an international TVC not shown here and i never saw the final cut.
I do remember practicing in the lead up to the audition, freaking mum out when I would clear her car bonnet on the flat - no ramp.
