Haha, this will be my 3rd season on a board. 2nd one that’s over 20 days.. And I’m gona get a lesson early on in the season, (intermediate) so I hopefully get even better, 
I try and fit in at least one lesson every season.
Even after almost 20 years snowboarding, close to 1000 days.
Yep lessons are the bomb! I still do them too! And if you are only going to do one I say suck up the cost and pay for private. Well worth it!
Whats great (especially for someone like you H0z) is that when your first timer mates come down you sign up for a lesson at the same time!

Thinking of doing it 1st or 2nd weekend down, and when our other friends come down (on our July week, or August trip) We will go explore for the 2 hours, then meet up for some easier stuff with everyone

Also they can get in trouble if they offer the deal elsewhere.
