JAPAN 2013/2014

Billy - 07 May 2013 04:55 PM

Jumping ahead here, but got my quote today for Japow 2014! (Holy shit I’m going to be broke)

Anyone going next year? I was having a chat with Azz the other day about the whole North Korea saga. Now, I know nothing about this (I tend to tune out on news, whoops) - should I be worried? Is this turning many people off?

That’s just What those wacky terrorist tools want. Fear.
You’ll be apples. They not gonna bomb the ski areas so worst case scenario the airports close and you’ll be stuck having to ski that horrible Japanese powder. “sorry boss the Koreans are playing up again gonna be a coupla…..weeks late this mornin”

Billy - I like DRC advice!

Also I just searched using webjet and JAL to Sapporo is $1600. (29th Dec- 15th Jan)

You may only get the fare quote cause of you package. But if you can get the accom cheaper than the fare difference it might be worth it!

Actually flights are 1550. Remember, I’m coming from Melbourne! Have to fly to Sydney then go syd-narita-chitose. So not bad I reckon!

Niseko! Yeah I’m all for self planning, doing it for Europe! smile

Aww I thought you we’re going to give Nozawa a shot?

Ok well I can’t advise as well as Honshu having not been to Niseko (I will make it to Hokkaido sometime in the near future!)

Hopefully others can advise if it’s more expensive than my guidelines from my last post.

Sorry Dave I didn’t see this post! AHHH I know… But I’m limited with time and we have lots of friends in Niseko/working there that we want to catch up with… Was going to do nozawa too but I don’t think I’ll make it. Will definitely be spending a lot of time in moiwa again, rusutsu too hopefully - will have to palm off my ticket then I guess! (easy done)

Yeah that’s fair enough!

It would be tricky to fit them both in one trip and unless you are big into BC I think 20 nights would be a long time in Nozawa. For pure riding I really loved Myoko but I reckon you would die of boredom with the apres.

After seeing photos from you, Mizu and especially some of trents adventures, I’m keen to explore Hokkaido!
