True, i just want to know the gossip

Okay, basically if you know a TAFE teacher/or administrator well enough that they will sign off on the paper work that says you are a full time student - you can get a J1 visa.

A J1 visa lets you work in America and they don’t mind if you don’t start til January/mid January.

I just figured Dylan having gone to Tafe for a few years may have built enough relationships at that tafe to wing it…

Stuff that, sooner I can have nothing todo with tafe or being a student the better, I’ll either go over to Canada during their summer, travel and work or do a season in aus or nz

Huh?

You don’t have to go to Tafe to get it. Just set up a teacher to sign the form (before you leave for good).

I did something similar. I had a teacher that I was decent mates with and when I went in to get my train pass, he signed me off as a full time student so I could get it as the receptionist was being a twat and didn’t want me to save 50% off my train tickets.

That worked out to be about $25 a week which means a bit over $1k for the year smile

I actually enrolled in a Full time course, was going to push for prior learning credits etc. So I would have a piece of paper saying i had studied business ops. Bonus is it would say I was a full time student to get the J1 visa.

It all fell apart though and they saw right through me. But I could see one of my old teachers signing it if I had of gone back to them (it had been 3 years since I had been at TAFE by this point).

Nearly forgot my latest purchase. Got it a couple of weeks back but been pretty sick so haven’t had a chance to give it a workout.

It’s a single speed/fixed (depending on which way you have the rear wheel) and so far I’m absolutely loving it. It’s really light and mechanically simple (nice not having to worry about gears on the sand covered tracks)

Still getting used to riding it in fixed mode but it’s a very nice leg workout.
