Cant recall the name but there is a club in QT that the roof opens up when it heats up in there. was pretty cool
^ Winnies.
Great pizza there, a cool vibe, and a wide range of beers. I’ve had some fun nights there. One time, maybe 4 or 5 years ago, we’d made friends at Ohau with a couple who worked in Queenstown (it’s quite common for Queenstown peeps to head to Ohau in search of pow), and they said to make sure we caught up with them when we were in Queenstown. It turned out they both worked at Winnies, and insisted on hooking us up with free drinks all night. Shit got real - wicked night.
Along with Winnies, The Cow also has great pizza.

The Cow can get REALLY busy, and wait times can be well over an hour - but it’s well worth it, and there’s plenty of cool bars nearby where you can wait. The alternative is to wait close to The Cow’s entrance, but it can get quite tight there. I once accidentally smacked Gerry Harvey in the face with the door.
I didn’t take that photo. It’s a still from when they made the TV ad. As there’s still snow up high in the ad, I’m guessing it was taken mid-spring. Here’s one of mine down at Lake Ohau in mid-winter:
Very cool photo!
Looks like a call place Flying the 22nd July to 4th August, hopefully the is some snow.

oh Wow. The forums have changed so much since I was last here!
Anyways. So I’m flying into Christchurch and landing in the wee hours of the morning of the 3rd August.
Staying in Methven 3 nights. Going to either do 2 nights at Lake Tekapo or 2 nights Wanaka or 1 night each.
Then hitting up Queenstown from 7th.
Will probably try and hit up Winnies since everyone else is posting good things.
That view looks awesome Chucky, unfortunately I don’t think we’d have enough time to stop there. Mayhap on another return visit
If no one knows already, skyscanner.com.au isn’t a bad website/app to monitor flight prices. They also compare between travel agencies. (Sorry if this isn’t allowed!)

Your better half’s keen on the hot springs etc. in Tekapo, right? The longest you’d want to spend there is about three or four hours I reckon.
Just a heads up - the lake at Tekapo is nice enough, but Tekapo itself is a bit of a shithole. The only decent accommodation is Peppers, and although the rooms are really nice, they’re grossly overpriced unless you can score a really good deal.
