Hey guys,

We are so sorry about all the current problems going on around the site. I know I haven’t been on the forums as much lately, but I read all the posts (especially in this thread), and I am working tirelessly to make this site into something we can all be proud of. I have a list a mile long on things that need fixing on the forums and I won’t stop until it’s done. We have massive amounts of work that needs to be done over the next four weeks and beyond. All I can ask is to please be patient and to continue to support us through this challenging time. My dream is to deliver us the best boardsports website Australia has ever seen.

Cheers,

Jez.

Quoting to put on this page.

A few changes have gone through this morning:

Pending posts button has been removed.

Page no longer shifts slightly when using login or fast reply.

Edit button has been made blue and moved to the far left (as requested by the water bear).

We are working on the “Security Test Failed” error message which has been popping up. This should be fixed today. The reason it’s been happening is because of our anti-spam software. It has also been preventing new members registering, which is obviously a major problem.

We are also working on an option to keep you logged in.

More changes will be coming through as well. Thank you for your patience.

Why blue?

I don’t mind the colour scheme we had going on - the black white, blue, yellow (orange?) and hints of pink.

Clean lines without being boring.

I think yellow box for the edit button (or something else?) just to brighten things up a bit!

What does everyone else think?

Also please please please can we have something more distinct on the forum home page about whether sections have new posts in them? This has been made worst with the new mobile pages layout as you can’t ever reference to what time a post was posted!

I really think this has been contributing to a lack of posts/slow down in the boards of late.

The reasoning was less contrast. Not such an important button and it really stood out. Happy to roll this back if everyone preferred the yellow.

New/Old post notification on the main page is a current priority. Should be fixed soon.

Nah, don’t roll it back - it’s MUCH better now. What some may see as ‘brightening’ things up, others see as tacky/clashy.

I don’t really mind either way, the Yellow was nice since you could see which ones were your own posts when zipping down the page. Now it all blends.

Though I’m not super fussy either way.

Hoping to have the notification on the main page working by the end of tonight. Also hoping to add icons for: sticky threads, closed threads, and poll threads.

On the main forums page, where you see the speech bubble icon, we will be changing old/read posts to an empty speech bubble icon. New/unread posts will keep the same solid speech bubble icon.

New icon for old/read posts

Staying logged in issue has been fixed. As it currently is, you should remain logged in for up to 5 days after inactivity. We will be changing this to give you an option to remain logged in or not, and also for an unlimited period of time. But at least this should save you some frustration until we fully configure the feature.

Stay logged in option now working.

Visual differentiation of new and old posts has been added to the main forums page with the use of icons. Still working on the mobile version of this.

Registration page has changed and is now working! Woohoo

Lano has officially joined the Boardworld development team. Lano is a champion. Just saying.
