hey guys. cooldoc again,
so ive narrowed my decision down to two bindings.. flux ds30 as well as sf45
now im leaning more toward the ds30 but i was wondering what kind of experience you guys have had with them as well as any suggestions/advice for me you have
im typically an all mountain rider, i spend only about 20% of my time in the park but i love to do small tricks on natural features, i need a strong binding for when i go hard down a mountain.. to be honest, im not really sure if im looking for softer/stiffer yet, im trying to figure it out. im just looking for what kind of feedback you guys have for me that would help me make my decision.
p.s. as far as the ds30.. is the SDR version any different from the rest of the colorways? the highback looks different so thats what got me wondering.
thanks in advance!
I have the SF45 but have only ridden it a few times. It is plenty stiff!
I would suggest you go for the SF45s. Being a bigger guy who rides the mountain 80% of the time, I think you will appreciate (or learn to appreciate) the extra support and response of the stiffer bindings. Also, the SF45s are a lot more similar to the DMCCs you were originally stoked on.
The DS30s are sick bindings, no doubt about it. But they are noticeably softer and better suited to the 80% park rider.
It really does come down to how stiff you want the bindings (think response and support). The stiffer binding will hold your weight better, will be better for carving, will give quicker edge to edge response (think about riding trees, you want quick edge to edge response). That said, they will be absolutely fine for tricks on natural terrain or in the park (you might even prefer stiffer bindings for this, as some rider do). Considering everything you have told us in this thread and your other binding thread, my strong recommendation would be the SF45s.
Yep!!!!! Based on ya weight/terrain preference, and with a med/stiff board, the SF45’s get the nod from me too ^^^^^
Ohhh, and the SDR’s Highback is different to the others only in shape/looks, as it’s the previous years DS30’s profile!!!!! They just ran with a different colourway/design to mark FLUX bein 20 years old, and called it a LTD Edition!!!!!
Still the same soft lateral flex!!!!!
thanks for the replies guys, unfortunately after i narrowed down my list, i have added to it again lol. i will not bother though, at the end of the day im just gonna have to choose one haha
whatever is chosen will probably be purchased within the week and ill let yall know!
Sounds like a plan!!!!!
