Questions regarding Canadian Visa Application

Avatar

Hi All,

I’ve come to a bit of point where i’m unsure of what to do regarding my 2013/14 season experience.

I’m really wanting to book my accommodation before i go (with rideonwhistler) but outlaying the cash has me a little worried since I don’t have my working holiday visa yet.

What i’m curious is to anyone….(and i know there is a high chance its completely random)....has had any trouble with getting their visa even though they thought there was no reason why they shouldn’t???

Again I love the accommodation rideon provides and the later i leave booking the more chance there is too miss out but again its bugging me that there might be some untold reason my visa is denied.

Toughts are appreciated!!

In my opinion, no there isn’t. If you meet all the requirements and have a clean criminal record, you should receive your visa in stated time period. I am confident they treat all WHP visa applications fairly and equally. Have you applied for your visa yet? I would apply ASAP.

Yeah all the stuff is ready to be sent but due to public holidays here can’t send it out. Hoping its a quicker process then the 8 weeks they say it takes so I can maybe still get a room with rideon (or if I just bank on getting the visa and book it before i get it)

If posting, send via registered post and make copies of everything. Alternatively, take it in personally.

In my experience, you will get it back in approx 6 weeks (possibly sooner). Don’t hold me to that, it’s just what I’ve seen happen. I guess it also depends how busy they are.

That said, I really don’t see a reason why you wouldn’t receive it at all. If you’re running short on time, I think you can still make plans for Canada. Don’t hold me to that either, but it’s what I would do.

Give me a little peace of mind to hear from someone who has done it all before. Im sure ill have it before i leave for the winter but just a decision has to be made on what i want to do with accommodation.

Thankyou so much for your help not only in this post but others ive been searching information for.

No worries! I should be over there for at least a few weeks next season. Let’s catch up for a shred and some beers!

Stick around and make sure you join in the Whistler Community Blog next season: http://www.boardworld.com.au/whistler

Let us know when you get your visa! smile

Have you got your AFP criminal record certificate? That’s what can really drag on (mine took 2 months). The actual visa was processed within 3 weeks, maybe even less than that.

Also get your season pass before the 6th of May for Whistler as you’ll get the super early bird and save $300 extra.

I remember hearing that you now need an AFP police check instead of the regular one, that’s right yes? Had no idea the processing times could be that long!

I received my conditional acceptance from International Experience Canada so do i need the police check for the next stage or just need it when i get to canada?

No you need the police check for stage 2. What state are you in as some states require a traffic report too. With stage 2 you will find the consulate’s website a pig unless you read everything really carefully too.

You may have trouble uploading docs too.
